I just love repurposing things, when I'm out and about I am constantly looking for parts bits and pieces that can be made into something special. Try taking an old DVD player apart and have a look at all the interesting doddads, tiny screws, bushes, springs, gears and brackets.

Many thanks Phil. just a short post, i have nearly finished the headlight bowls and lens, the lens came flat so had to be domed, fun and games heating and cooling to get the shape, not easy without causing damage, i have some more headlights to make so i might revisit this lens drama, regards simon.

Not sure how Simon did those... but very timely question! I just picked up this gem and can't wait to try it out!

Vintage Holdridge ball cutter that will work like a charm on the Monarch. Unused condition... so all the bushes, tools, etc. are just mint! Not sure what I'll use it for first... but it is one way to make headlamps! Or bucks for spinning!

You don't have to have CNC machines to do spheres, balls, cups, radii... the old masters were doing it long before they invented microchips!

Now, if I can just find an old master to learn from!

Hi Adrian, Robert, all done on the Lathe and a cardboard template for shape, time consuming and i was careful, the bezels, rings need reducing in size, not so fat, also the headlight supports need making smaller, my lathe skills are limited and i am not over adventurous, but you know when your interested this overcomes a lot, regards simon.

The end is in sight, just some electrics, could i make a better set, yes while its still fresh in my mind, a fair bit of problem solving on this small project, on to the next step, keep safe and well, regards simon.

Seems so long ago. The sdkfz7 is a much more manageable size than the FAMO .
