Thanks Nick :)
Yes a Mid Tiger would go well with your Panzer collection,so I hope Mark and Gill
grant your wish.
Did the Mid Tiger have the extra wheels or was it just the Early Tiger :?:
Time to turn my Lady over now and finish her bottom and some of the lower hull painting.
I've got the Grand kids Rabbits to look after while they go on holliday again,so I cant
do any spraying in the garage, they dont put up with it.
I will have to cover all that furniture in the summer house, with my dust covers and see
how a bit of air brushing works.
Cheers
Phil

Hi Ray
I answered your PM its stuck in my out box at the moment :)
If anyone wants to know how to get your wheels on the Late Tiger 2012 without moving
your preset swing arms.
They will all go on in one go a bit at a time.
On the right hull side start from the left put the wide spaced wheels just onto the
axles and moving from rear to front slip up the narrow spaced wheel up in between and
just onto the axle, work along untill they are all on,pullin the others in and out a bit
as you go,then finaly push them all bit by bit fully on.
the left hull side I started from the rear and had to move the Idler wheel backwards a
bit pivoting on its adjustment to get the first wide space wheel arrond it.
the rest is the same as the otherside.
the sprocket will go on easy on the side that its closest to.
Cheers
Phil

G'day Phil. Got your email. Currently my tiger is in upside down mode. I looked at putting the road wheels on that way. Question is, the recommended angle of 38%, did you do it because I tried and found you can't tighten the bolts. 38% puts the axles in alignment nicely. :? :? :?

Final drives are on as is idler axles. Just want to make sure I get this right.

Thanks

Hi Ray
Yes I think mine are set at about 38 degrees.
If your sprockets are already on,I think at the worst it would be a matter f slackening the taper lock so it slides out a bit if its in the way of that wf that closest wheel going on.
So yes you shouldnt have any problem putting them all on that way.
Cheers
Phil

Hi Gerrit.
If your bearing bushes are flush with the inside of the suspension bearing block, you
will see where the "O" ring goes.
I decided it was easier for me to grease the "O" ring and put it into the grouve first.
The suspension arm then goes in nicely but note that there is a shoulder on it so it
will only go in so far and if you was to try and make it go further you will knock the bush out the other side(guess how I found that out).
So as you have found there is a gap between the Hull side and the suspension arm.
I am at work at the moment, when I get home I will measure my gap for you.
Mine are nicely lined up when just pushed home and it is then easy to allign the
sprocket and Idler Wheel.
Will get back to you this evening with my measurement its probably about 6mm.
Regards
Phil

Hi Gerrit
I measured my gap between the little shoulder on the swing arm and the hull was 4.5mm.
I measured this using the plain shank of a 4.5mm drill, which was a nice fit, because
The legs on my Vernier Guage were not long enough to reach.
Every thing looks nicely in alignment and the little shoulder went through the "O" ring in its grouve and any further it meets the bush in the suspension bar.
Hope that helps, because none of the pictures or drawings show the gap.
Cheers
Phil

Hallo Phil,

Thanks for the ansers! :D

I measured my gap between the little shoulder on the swing arm and the hull was 4.5mm. OK also the same.

Every thing looks nicely in alignment and the little shoulder went through the "O" ring in its grouve and any further it meets the bush in the suspension bar.
Well and that O-ring I forget to mounted it between the hull and the suspensionbar!

Hope that helps, because none of the pictures or drawings show the gap.
Yes Phil all is set now and OK.

Only the raer end of the axels is in my opnion not realy fixed whit the 2 m3 hex screws is it posible too welded so it can't move it all?

After that must the axcel 35 or 38 degrees be mounted?

Kind regards Gertit.

Hi Ray,
Yes thats about how they look on mine.
Looks like you have a nice bit of sun to work in there,
judging by the shadows :)
Hi Gerrit,
The manual says about 35 degrees which is a good starting point,
so 38 degrees should be fine, all depends on the weight in the end,
which is usually the size and amount of batteries.
The 3mm grub screws should be ok if kept tight, probably not a good idea to use
welding it could end up a weak point.

Phil

Hi Nick
I thought I would try some Unibond Wall Tile Adhesive and I think it was Paul that said
to someone "have a practice on an old biscuit tin",So I had a go on some scrap.
Tim said do about 6 inches at a time and thats about right, especially in the sun that
we have now.
I flexed the steel strip about 1 inch and no cracks,so it stuck alright and vibration
should be no problem.
Price was £3.98 a tub and that may do the Tiger complete, but who minds if I have to buy
another one :) cant be bad.
Cheers
Phil
PS using Mike Stanards Zimerit tools

Cheers
