The Bridgeport mill or a clone is a really usefull bit of kit as you can tilt the head in two axis. Even with a machine t=like that you have doe a superb job of getting these compound angles right. When this is finished its going to be a stunning model.

This project is really coming together. The cupola and muzzle break look fantastic. This model will look excellent when painted. Really enjoying your progress - thanks for posting.

Hi Guys
After a few days sorting out a new computer got back on the
Stug roof I worked on the sliding scope cover and started the machine gunners folding shield.

Cover open

Hi Guys
Had the day off work yesterday so I took the chance to fill all the
screw heads and get some etch primmer on the fighting compartment.
This really brings out out the details like the bolt heads.






One other thing that was worrying me was the weight so I weighed the fighting compartment and the gun mantlet and
its comes to 8.5 kgs then I did the same with the components of the PzIII turret and the box it sits on and it comes to 12.5 Kgs so I have a bit to spare.
Thats good news.
I am planning to have the whole box and a new front deck
removable as a single unit to give good access.

Hi Guys
The next things I have to worry about are to do all the
welds and getting the machine gun shield finished
which means making the hinges and the other details.

If any one has a drawing of the front visor I could really
do with that info to see how the armor shield pivots down.

I have also been putting the hull together and I have
come to the conclusion that no Stugs had the doors in the lower hull so I have cut in fill alloy plates to fill these but I want them to be removable incase I want to go back to
a PzIII at any time.

If any one has pictures of a Stug IIIG with the escape doors
Please let me know it will make my life easy.

The color I want to do is shown in this post and is eastern front although it is shown on an early one I have pictures on the later one I am doing so thats fine and should go with the Panther nice.

Stewart the idea is to have it done enough to bring it to the open day however I have managed to miss both the previous open days due to major knee operations and I am facing another in early June so it depends on how that goes.
So a color photo or 4 for Tim



This is taken from the osprey modeling the Stug book and this model is by Tom Cockell and is first class.Sorry its a bit fuzzy its the glare from the sun today as I took the book outside to get the pictures.

More pictures later of my build as I made big progress today.
