I will send you the file via email.
I asked you to send me a pencil drawing with some numbers but what I got was a photo and diameter of 25mm and height of 50mm. As I am not a mind reader I made the 3d model resembling the photo. I am not going to disassemble or remake the model -- too much work.
Vince
p.s. If anybody else wants to give it a try just send me your email via PM before I delete the model.

I am nearly 100% sure that this won't work with a filament printer.

Just as well Vince, it's not the correct flask. We had the ones below on Chieftain and although it's a long time ago, I believe we also had them when I was on Cents in Australia. They were originally for WW2 aircrew. It's reasonable to suppose these are the ones used on Cents in UK. One other point - they were easy to break and therefore we always left them in the troop cage in barracks and bought our own very much better ones from civilian sources. 'Twas ever thus.

Well it turns out my crappy filament printer has done a superb job, shame it's not the correct one ? The guys on the Centurion appreciation society said that's the type that they remember. I had no dimensions to go by so just guessing from the long bin dimensions.
Your comment Mr White was not very tactful , it's still a great piece that Vince has drawn from just a photo and will not be wasted.

Well I am quite impressed you managed to print it with an FDM printer.
This is Stephen's version which was much easier to do. Use a piece of wire for the handle.

First thermos printed, painted and the wire handle bent up and fitted.
It's taken me probably 2 years to get the filament printer to work this well, there are so many contributing factors to get just right plus the custom mods to the stepping motors, the extruder must be perfectly set or the retraction will not be clean, the nozzles need customizing, the bed and the height of need constant adjustments as the nozzles wear, the filament must be of excellent quality, the software needs updating regularly and so on and so on.

This really is the thread that keeps on giving. Can’t wait to see how your searchlight turns out compared to the 3d printed versions.
You know you can buy wire wool rather than make your own?
Great stuff

Nothing done except a couple of cans printed from another era but may have still been around in the seventies?

Fantastic work there Phil, the mind boggles at the detail stuff your pouring into the model.
All I could think about while looking at the machining of the search light housing though, "Beer Keg", that what happens when you live near a brewing town.
Time for swift one.

It is such a great pleasure to watch.
How about some dents for the petrol cans?

I agree Oliver those cans need some character, the donor flashlight arrived Mr Dawe, it's a bit posh! It even has a glass lens!
Reference the Morris engine file I found, although had potential has not printed well, this is maybe down to budget cad software issues, this and scaling up from a tiny model but some parts may with a little filler round out and be useful.

Cheers Muttley you old dog you! And I'm still turning away but I've broken the back of it now. My plan this afternoon was to spend an hour on the half track and a couple of hours on the Centurion but got stuck into the Cent.
