Hi All,
I have just seen the Facebook item about the work-up for the forthcoming late Tiger 1 release. It seems Armortek have opted for a re-release rather than a re-design. I think it is a shame they have not opted to re-tool the model to accept the new resilient wheels that are a welcome feature of the latest King Tiger kit and the Jadgtiger kit. I suppose a re-release of the Panther G (with the option to model Fgst.Nr. 121032 to 121055) may also be too much to hope for?

A few years ago my wife had 25 tons of sand delivered to make me a tank driving area. We added some rocks then last year Mike Duncombe gave me one of his bridges he'd built so we installed that also.
Over the winters the sand had settled so my wife again ordered us 8 tons of sand and it was delivered yesterday. I've been spreading it some and raking it out and then thought: 'Wouldn't it be PERFECT IF I had a 1/6 scale Armortek dozer to help spread this out right now!'
I dump the buckets of sand around then SPREAD it out with a bulldozer! WOW!! Wouldn't THAT would be GREAT!!! Just say'in...

My wife bought me several tins of paint, paint brushes, cleaning materials, a built in wardrobe invoice, (for her) another build it yourself wardrobe (for her) and a couple of invoices for new carpets!
A good wife, saying to me "it's too cold to work in the garage (workshop) at your age", "get up stairs and sort out the bedrooms in the warmth."

It's sunny and HOT today so I spread a few more buckets of sand then made a Command Decision that a cool garage and COLD cans of 'adult libations' was better! You know what they say about 'Mad Dogs and...' something else in the noon day sun... I forget the phrase...
But Adrian mentioned having tanks in the pictures so I drove'em out and tore up some sand. A DOZER sure would come in handy!!

I believe a SU or ISU -152 would be different; even an SU-100... Still want an Italian Semovente da 75/18.
I recognize everyone wants a Tiger, Challenger, Chieftain, Centurion, some flavor of Panther.... but wouldn't it be nice to have
'something completely different' (!)?. I can't throw stones- having 11 Panthers/variants in 1/10 scale doesn't really make me
any different.....
In 1/16th scale the Holy Grail of kits for years was Imai's Elefant, Why? wasn't just the exceptional quality for a kit produced 45+ years ago but
rather it was different with respect to that scale than everything else before or since (later copy cats don't count). It's also why a kit that originally sold for USD 400 in 1972 could command USD 5k at auction in the 2000s.
I realize Armortek is a business and any business has to make what sells the best..

I understand that Armortek got 'burned' in the early days over the T-34 - it just didn't sell. So I can't see any WW2 Russian stuff coming out. Italian stuff is just too obscure, as is Japanese and French. As you rightly conclude, Armortek is a small business, and they can't afford to carry large amounts of obscure stock just because a few people might like one some day. And, as we can all appreciate, the development costs are ferocious, and need to be recovered from quick sales, or we won't have any toys to play with at all .
So, sadly, I can see the market being dominated by WW2 German armour for some time to come. British and American WW2 stuff will occasionally appear. There may be a drift into Cold War, when the Russians might make an appearance. Kian is, rightly, trying to determine the current shape of the market from his surveys.
We all have our pet loves ([cough] Whippet ! [cough] ), but I don't believe in the dark depths of my soul that they're realistic expectations. So I don't challenge your dreams - just trying to put them in perspective without bursting too many bubbles. Dreams and imagination keeps us happy !
