Re: In memory of Gill Watkins
This is as sad as it is unexpected. It was Gill who helped me (repeatedly) during my early days building my Mark IV when my enthusiasm far outstripped my ability. More than that she made me feel welcome in the 'extended famiily' of owners and builders that overcame my usual social reticence. She will be missed...

Re: In memory of Gill Watkins
Sincerest condolences to you Mark and your family, our thoughts are with you,
A real shock and tragedy that someone with such great enthusiasm and vivacity should leave us so soon and especially as a new life with Mark away from Armortek was just unfolding. Whether calling on the phone or meeting in person, Gill always made me feel welcomed like a long lost friend. Her subtle blend of business like efficiency and personal sincerity never failed to give absolute confidence in the Armortek brand and make you feel like the number one customer – what more could you ask for and a reason no doubt that many of us are still part of this community today.
With great sadness,
David, Heather and the boys

I really don’t know how to express myself at this moment, this is a really sad time for all. This beautiful lady so full of bounce and energy that helped and encouraged us all. I can only echo at this time the warm sentiments that so many have written.
Our warmest thoughts to Mark and his family at this heart breaking time

Re: In memory of Gill Watkins
Wow this is shocking and terribly sad news. Gill made Armortek feel like family. Even for us across the pond.
Well where she's going the packages are at least light and airy - I still remember her comments on packing heavy tank models out for delivery. Over the years I've purchased several - and she packaged and shipped most if not all.
She was a key part of Armortek's success. Behind every good man is a great woman -so the <true> phrase goes.
I hope she got to enjoy some retirement in good measure.
Best regards, Gill and Mark. Thank you both for what you have created for us to enjoy.

Re: In memory of Gill Watkins
It is with heartfelt sadness we offer our condolences to Mark, Daniel and Sara, at this difficult time.
I first met Gill many years ago and I remember feeling that I had known her for years, she had that effect.
Her open, warm and engaging personality made you feel that way, part of her world.
Many are grateful and appreciative of her painstaking efforts in sorting out "tanky" issues and ensuring everything was correct and as it should be.
Her firm, but fair business style earned the trust and respect of all that knew her. Gill's big presence in the tank world made it sometimes
easy to forget she was also, a wife, a mum, anima/dog lover, the later we shared with her.
I guess we all loved Gill for who she was, a very special lady.
Thank you Gill and God Bless, John and Maureen Hill x

Re: In memory of Gill Watkins
I only know Gill in photography, but I read the memorial of “ARMORTEK Family” and decided to make her a woman as I imagined from the picture.
I wanted to hear her voice because it was all right.
Congratulations to Mark and his family from the island nation of Japan.
