Turned up sound, clicked play, was impressed. Congratulations, Kian and the team, it’s a Cold War triumph.
With sound and smoke, it’ll have even more presence. Still two back bins to fit on the hull (the ones on the turret were an unofficial mod) but good to see you’ve had a go at thermal sleeves. A bit of judder is inevitable with that 120 gun barrel but it’s not very noticeable. Makes a great incentive to develop a working stab system.
Paint, external stowage of kit, a few oil leaks and job done.

Totally agree with most parts.
Four back bins are definitely needed, two in their correct positions and the two "extras" up on the turret rear.
The gun judder was noticeable but realistic for if the gunner had failed to select Stab. Normally resulted in the gunner getting a quick kick to the head from the commander and him having to buy a crate of beer for the fitter section.
No splash plate between the headlights, this was a standard fit. Helped deflecting the bow wave when fording and reduced the chance of the driver getting drenched by water pouring into his cab. Fixing a damaged splash plate came just under fixing the BV in the list of priority jobs.
Looking very nice but the back decks really need the T-Piece, and if it is to be realistic then the serial number ( VRN ) needs to be on the T-Piece as well as on the hull.

Would the VRN be the Registration No or a Chassis No? Also, would it be raised or stamped in?

I saw it on all the Chiefies that I supported. My brother who crewed them 17/21L confirmed his vehicles had it as well. Registration number not stamped in but raised. No set position but more done as a weld line.
Possibly introduced by the REME as an unofficial modification when we discovered that the hulls got slightly distorted in use and it was neccessary to keep each T-piece together with the hull it came out of.

Yesterday we were at the Tank Museum to record the sound of the Chieftain startup for our sound module.

Hi Manny, there are not really any new photos to post. The prototype has been finished and all we are waiting for now are the cast parts to finish off production and start shipping the kits out.
We will try to get the sound unit inside the Chieftain by the open day at the factory, so we should have some video of it running with sound.
We still expect the castings to be with us in the second week of September, so shipping should start end of September.

Stephen or anybody in the know. Does the donkey engine need to keep running after the main engine has started?
