Re: Bergepanther "A" build log.
I have now installed the esc's, basic motor wiring and the radio, all is working great so now to the winch control, the led lights system which is a new rc unit for me dedicated to the vehicles lights and lamps controlled using 2 rc channels. Then on to the high pressure smoker.
I won't bother to tidy the wiring just get as some units may need to repositioned.

I've added the sound and the high pressure smoker, video to follow of the smoker in sync with the engine rpms and gear changes. The engine bay will be fairly full but I want everything in there and accessible

Interesting to see how the smoker turns out, as I've tried high power fans and they tend to blow the oil out as well !!

Re: Bergepanther "A" build log.
The new high pressure smoker, your absolutely right Adrian it can blow the smoke oil straight out the exhaust pipes, so you need to add baffles to the smoke box and keep the oil level to a minimum, plus a few other tweaks that for now I shall keep to my self

Re: Bergepanther "A" build log.
If I can get it somewhere near this excellent Panther example then I'm happy.
It's obviously a worn engine but just pure theater all the same.

Short but sweet video, the sound of the running gear is my next mission, watch the arse dip as the driver pulls away. Note the arse of the JP dip as the driver guns it and changes the gears...remind you of anything?

Well all control systems and the wiring is in there, the winch is nearly ready for the wire rope and I will soon have to start thinking about making the crew compartment.

Hello Phil!
First-class work. I admire your Bergepanther.
I would like to have a Bergepanther, too.
Iunfortunately I only have a static Panther FOA kit available.
Greetings from Germany
Michael

Phil,
I too am glad to see you back on the Berg. The grey color really sets off the detail. Super impressive model, esp with all the mods you've done. Great work!

Thankyou Bob and everyone else that has commented and liked these posts.
More progress, lots more in fact. I have now finished the winch and the rear plate fittings The Bergepanther sure is a lot of work, and there is still a long way to go! The convoy light has two settings, bright for dusk and a dimmer setting for the dark. I could really do with a bag of the winch access plate hand screws if anyone has any ideas please?

Re: Bergepanther "A" build log.
That smoker is great. When you say "our new smoker" is this something you will be offering for sale? Very cool. They were running that Munster Panther G rather hard for its age. Hope they have spare drivetrain parts!
Best regards,
Bob
