Michal - I wondered what sort of machine tools were behind the beautiful parts you made. I regard Proxxon as the top of the quality range and buy their tools whenever I can, although they aren't the cheapest. I've got a Proxxon bandsaw for example which copes with thicknesses of brass and aluminium which other machines won't touch. I looked at the lathe and milling machine from Proxxon and they are very high quality tools, if perhaps a bit small for some of the machining tasks on the tanks models. Thanks for sharing your fantastic work and good luck with the light lenses.

Hello Stephen,

You are right the Proxxon tools are one of the best tools in their class. I have got about 12 Proxxon tools. Every year I buy something. I use my Proxxon lathe almost for small details. For bigger parts, I use my bigger lathe SN281. It was produce in Romania 30 years ago, but it is very nice still.

Hi Michal
I also remember someone (maybe Derek Attree?) saying that model ship suppliers have lenses
I haven't seen lenses on their own, but it is possible to buy scale searchlights and the lens could be "liberated" from the housing.

The other possibility I have been looking at is replacement glass for wrist watches. If you can find a good spares supplier it is possible to get replacement glass in many diameters and profiles, both glass and plastic.

I really admire your detailing - the headlamps are wonderful. Look forward to seeing more.
regards
Kevin

Hello Kevin,

Thank you for your suggestions. The first step will be to try liquid glass, I think it will work. If it doesn´t work i will find some other solutions.

If you want to see my others models, you can visit my website http://www.mmpanzer.estranky.sk/ or my facebook page.

Have nice day.

The first attempt to produce a light lens. I used standard resin, so there's a lot of bubbles, but it is mainly about the shape and it is fine. The most important, the matrix is OK. I'm still waiting on the transparent glass. It is coming next week.

Hello Rolf,

thank you. Your flak is amazing. It looks like better as original. Great respect. I would like to make the 88mm flak scratch build. It is in the plan but first I have to finish my Bismarck and my Sd Kfz 7 and after I will make the trailer and the flak. It is the plan for next 4 years.

Have nice day.
