Hi David.
I use the same metal primer as most other builders on the forum Upol acid 8 etch primer in a spray can its very good then a standard primer over the top of that, the dark yellow colour is a filler primer that i use just for the colour as i find it gives a good base for the correct shade over the top, also if i may a little trick i use is to prime the whole tank or whatever with the darker shade i.e. the yellow primer then the correct lighter shade sprayed from above...as this is where the light would come from this method gives you a pre set shadow on the vehicle before you even start any detail work.
Cheers Paul .

Hi Paul,
The smoke dischargers look great as does the re-profiled barrel . A big improvement. I agree the welds are superb too
Thanks Ant

Hi fellas.
Last few bits coming together now, I made the aerial today and got it fitted.
[img][/img]
The main body is brass with a 6 mm thread to go into the aerial base, I tighted the threaded part just enough so that when the aerial is upright it stays there but there is just enough play to allow you to lower it into the tray without fear OF BENDING IT ANT
Antony has bought Clives excellent towing eyes so today I finaly got the tow ropes fitted as well.
[img][/img]
Clives starter plate in place.
[img][/img]
Got the animatronic tank comander fitted into his bracket as well, thing is Ant by the time he had been in and out a few times and I then cut his legs off to stop them getting trapped in your final function he is a little bit out of sink...but i think I will let you set him up don't want you to feel left out mate So last but not least a couple of pics with the top on for Antony.

Paint time next mate
Cheers for now Paul

Hi Fellas.
Bit more progress.
[img][/img]
Everything is in place now and the paint starting to come together,
Ran the tank round the garden this evening to get a better idea of the colours in natural light, just a pointer for all fellow builders with the speaker placed between the motors at the front of the tank you get a noticeable vibration from the two front hatches! you don't hear it when the tank is moving due to the engine rev noise but when you stop you notice it...ideas anyone?
Fitted the amount of tracks recomended and had to take two out each side and found in my opinion the tracks need to be run fairly tight.
