Re: Comet
Driver!!
Is this one of those rare lefthand drive models?
A fine job Mick, but I would comment on the strap holding the gunner's hatch open, have a look at
http://www.primeportal.net/tanks/de_cra ... walk_4.htm page 4, picture 3.
I think the handle provided is curved the wrong way and have remodelled mine. This would make it possible for the driver or gunner to reach up from a secure position to release the hatch retaining clip without exposing more than a few fingers.
It seems very much a grey area here, but we need to add small extensions to the ends of the glacis plate to interlock with the retaining clip.
Greetings
Paul

Re: Comet
Well spotted Paul, my regular driver was on a tea break. I know what you mean regarding the door. I added the straps to stop the hatches swinging about.
I will be making these and other changes/additions over the winter months.
Phil, no chance of a 'drive' out especially in this weather, I get paranoid with the dust that appears out of nowhere.
You T34 is looking superb.
I spend many happy hours following the various 'builds' on the Forum.....quite taken over my life.....Mick
P S had a brief hic-cup with my access to the Forum...all okay now.

Re: Comet
Happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.
My Comet is guarding the Christmas Tree,......at least that's what told my wife.
She just 'tut tuted' and muttered something about big boys toys.
I will be serving Christmas lunch to the crew....after all I am their Commanding Officer.
