Hi Phil
Looking good! I really like the dusting on the lower hull behind the wheels. Nicely done. Amazing job on those suits!! I never would of guessed those were painted.
Ii thought WOW! When did Dragon release solid suits for British tankers?
Very nice
best regards
Tim

Hi Tim
Thanks for the kind comments.
Its a lot of fun learning the new skills and experimenting.
I've got a spare Pixie Suit and wondered what effect bleaching would have
on the suits,so I might have a go and see if it lightens the Cam a lot,so
less paint to cover needed.
But the quallity of the suits is plenty good enough to stand a bit of abuse
with the scrubbing and washing.
Cheers
Phil

Hi Phil.
I subjected one of those suits to a couple of hours boiling in Dylon colour remover, with no visible effect. I think the method of adding the camouflage more like painting than dyeing, so their bleaching agent had no chance
I would be interested to know what effect your bleach has, as I bought a stock of these cheap when they were being talked down on the various forums

Pixie Suits and Bleach

Hi Adrian
You are right, the suits are pritty tough, the Bleach didnt touch them.
I'm well versed in the art of ruinning Jeans and best Tee shirts
with bleach splashes.
I soaked my spare Pixie suit over night in a diluted thick bleach
concentrate and water,no effect.
This evening I put the bottom 1 1/2 inch of one leg into a bowl of
the neat concentrated thick bleach for about an hour and no
effect.
Its a paint untill its covered job.
Cheers

Thought that might be the case Phil
The only thing I've managed to accidentally bleach recently was the downstairs loo carpet

Fortunately a quick haircut and the blond highlights were gone
I tried dry-brushing my suit - I might see if I can dig out the old Badger airbrush and try that instead.

Hello Phil and Adrian, I also purchased the Pixie Suit with the later Dragon Terry Davies. I have boiled the suit and I have painted the suit, however the end result has not been good.
So, I collected a few Dragon Douglas Kay and Dragon 'Fred' tanker bodies. I have cut 'Fred' down to chest level as my driver.
The M/Gunner is wedged in and is a 'Terry Davis' body in best dress. The loader and commander are Douglas Kay and a Special Agent head in tanker suits.
Bit of a mix and match....but I am satisfied with the result. Your suits look very good Phil.
Keep on testing, you have more patience than me.
Best wishes Mick

Sorry to confuse Nick
I put the word working before Soot instead of Gun Flash.
The Soot was just the Mat black Acrylic and Graphite rubbed
round the holes, that was why it was a close up photo but I decided
to vidio it to see what the close up was like.
Cheers

Hi Phil,
Vary, very nice looking Comet. I really like the camo net on the front & gun barrel with the weaved material included. What did you use for the material
Thanks Antony
