Great looking Comet. You must be proud of er. The missus would never let me keep mine in the dinning room which is a shame.

Thank you Robert, I have the upper hand at the moment as I also do all of the household work....The Comet is not quite so obvious now as she is at ground level, on my table lift.
Weather here is slowly picking up, so into the garage is the next move

Yes Phil, there will be carpet on the floor or something to absorb any shocks...the trailer is now very heavy.
Solid 3 x 3 timbers and 7/8 ply, drop down jacks etc,. To heavy to lift, so I will fit a trailer trolley wheel. I will also have side padding and chocks
The intention is to display the Comet on the trailer at various vintage shows, and then run her down the ramps.....
I have over many years previously taken my motorcycles, these are now a thing of the past, as my age and health caught up with me, so, I know the procedure,and I have experience at various local 'Vintage/Steam Rallies.

Finally made a decision regarding the controls on the Futaba TX.....decided to go with control of both left and right hand tracks using the return to centre springs.
With the sticks centered all power is off.
So, removed the ratchet from the left hand stick and fitted a Spring Return Kit Y-MA8036, for ST36, £2.99 plus postage from Mikes Models, Kingstanding, Bham.
I guess most good model shops will have this item. I post this info to help anyone thinking of a similar change....works much better with my slow reactions. I wanted the Comet to stop at my command....not appear to have a mind of it's own

I have just had a try with my TX and you can still select and
operate the sounds with your switch in between your first 2 fingers
with your thumb on the left stick.
Soon get used to it.

Tank recoil systems, I have followed the various recoil units being put together by one and all.....some serious thought has gone into the development of these systems.
I hope to improve my Comet during the coming Autumn/Winter. As a point of interest the gun recoil will be an item on my shopping list.
With my fingers crossed....it would be appreciated by myself and I am sure many other Comet builders, if during the months ahead tank enthusiasts who are building these recoils were able to produce the necessary parts for anyone with an interest in this addition. Subject to costs of course....just a thought......Mick

I saw your trailor in the flesh but its amazing how much room the
Comet takes up.

Thanks Phil, I was pleasantly surprised at the ease at which the Comet climbs the metal motorcycle ramps.
The motors have so much power, coupled with the engine sounds, the tank is really a joy to drive.
The weather also helps, so I had a very enjoyable morning.
The Iron Duke is safely back in the dinning room, I don't think she is ready for the garage yet. As I explained to my wife....cold and damp are a tanks worst enemy....apart from Tigers of course.
