Some parts on order so I'm cracking on with the drivers hatch.

All dismantled, the hatch sections can be checked against the 1/35 kit parts and used as templates for the outline dimensions

I'm using spare parts from previous builds , so long as there's plenty of material to machine away I'm happy, it beats waiting on stock to arrive by post. That's a KT escape hatch on the left and possibly an interior part from a 251 or 7 kit.

I have lots of farming chores to do this time of the year but trying to get the afternoons in the workshop, it just means very early starts.

Sometimes there's so much swarf you just can't see what you are cutting and one slip could mean making a whole new part, the dro helps no end.

It's always advisable to center drill whilst in the lathe, I can then easily pick up that center in the rotary Chuck on the mill.
