Some white wash examples. Which one to choose, well lets see how in evolves....my favourite part of the process, that way no two are ever the same.

Some more of yesterdays antic's. Maybe boring photos for some but they are to show how the colours are built up, also using different edits to play with the light, hue and shade.
I wonder if Armortek would produce a limited run of track segments for us that are more detailed, ie the track horn is cut out for example, I bet there is a market for them, just to hang on the Tigers, not for functioning tracks as they would break.

I am happy with this level of white wash and weathering and will go for it tomorrow, unless otherwise directed ? More photos tomorrow morning of my new milliput colour choice and removable plate welds technique.

You can see the tiny gap to allow the turret roof to be removed, this gap can be filled with something soft that wont set like a modelling dark wax.

Phil

When you applied the milliput for the turret roof, what did you do so that the milliput does not adhere to the turret roof? Masking tape or maybe kitchen aluminium foil?

Where did you get the rivets and how do you attach the main deck as I cant see any screws? The shading for the drive sprockets what colour did you use?

Loving the advice and build.

A little tease for tomorrows post.

Vince I use oil on the part you want to release, just to make sure run a very thin blade along the joint to further separate. This technique is one of the hardest to get right.
Allan, I am using some of the stock deck fixings but only 4 total, you just can't hide them just make them less prominent. The shading around the sprockets is just a shade of black or a dark brown that I mix up, try mixing green and red in different ratios to get that sprockets shading colour, buff is also used just depends on the environment you are depicting. The rivets are mostly from eBay Phil also found a supplier that has the smaller variety, I expect that he will post that info when he sees this post. 8)

Not sure if the boss will like the missing fender look, if not the part is there painted ready to bolt on , the same goes for the exhaust shield.

Allan,

We sourced the rivets from two places.

Westfield Fasteners in Aylesbury

www.westfieldfastners.co.uk

and

EKP Supplies in Barnstaple

We now have one of the new sound modules so that will be going in along with the new speakers today.
The weathering will go on right up until Phil picks the ol girl up, I have chipping, scratches, shading, rubbing back, washes, rust and the environment, ie mud, dust water stains to add.
Jobs still to do are, turret interior (full). Cupola interior/exterior detail kit to fit, mg interior detail (hull, cupola and coax). Turret basket/floor with ammo storage and Armorpax batteries under the hull floor, Track painting (spare and chains) Running trials (with video). Interior light for the turret, and a lot more that I just cant think of right now! 8)

Hi Phil
Very nice work, thanks for sharing, I have a few spare steel track links if you are interested, no need to paint them just leave them in the mud for a few days.

Thanks
Liam

Hello Phil,

Weathering looks amazing, can you explain how do you apply

Best regards Yves
