Re: Armorpax's Armortek UC - No.18
Hi Dave
Looking very good a fast build for sure.
I was wondering if you had any plans to do decals for the dash board dials ?
Its a shame non were supplied in the kit like there were in the Famo kit
as its an open top machine.
Regards
Derek

Hi Derek,
I have a list of decals I'm waiting for Peddinghaus to do so not sure I will be able to get any done quickly. Also would need graphics etc which I don't have. If anyone can help out with that and knows of any other good decal makers????
Best regards
Dave

Re: Armorpax's Armortek UC - No.18
Hi All,
I think that's the last of the kit changes before I start adding new bits. I've shortened the rear side plate that goes along the top of the engine housing and made a new rear bracket for the centre grab handle. I've also replaced the solid bar supplied in the kit with a piece of Albion alloys Aluminium tube to better represent the original handle. Front steps re-drilled and moved forward now too. When the Sand skirts are fitted they will now sit over the first 3mm or so of the step so I can add two fixings between the step and sand skirt.
I've also drilled the additional fixing points for Gun brackets etc. and a parcel arrived from Expo this morning. Doesn't look much yet but that is a large part of the Carrier updates
.
Also just had notification a Shapeways parcel is on route which will be the master for the Bren 100 Rd drum mag and the No19 Set spares box.
Best regards
Dave

Hi All,
Bag of goodies arrived from EKP today and some lovely M3 Castle nuts from Steve Winstone. I've copied Grahams mod to the suspension which does look much better.
Best regards

Re: Armorpax's Armortek UC - No.18
Hi All,
I am indeed Adrian. A quick mod that improves the inside of the frontal armour is the addition of some 6.4mm plastruct strip. I know this should be riveted but with my other half watching telly I'd not be that popular
Once this is all done I'll lock the bolts with a drop of glue then grind off the remaining studs so shouldn't look too bad.
Best regards
Dave

Oooh I do like the plasti strut improvements, they really dress the interior properly. Must get some.

Awesome build Dave, what a great little model. Watching with interest as you work your magic on the detail parts. I'm waiting on a "Christmas" Shapeway's package myself. Love getting detail bits from them.
Happy Holidays,
Bob

Hi All,
After a quiet but nice Christmas day, a lazy Boxing day morning and a bit of gaming fancied an hour or so on the Carrier this afternoon. Additional holes drilled into the rear body armour, tie downs added and the frame made for the Camo net bag.
Best regards
Dave

Re: Armorpax's Armortek UC - No.18
I do like the look of this item, hopefully to be added to the other upgrades for the UC. I am planning a improved cowl to the gun position, firstly in steel but could hollow out kit item and cut away for the hatch. Also thinking of using the spare M3 castle nuts to improve the ends of the cross shafts.
Wishing you all a happy and safe New Year.

Hi All,
The finished camo net bag, swings out perfectly to allow the back box to open. Think the motion pack uses this as the battery compartment so important it can still open with the bag attached.
Best regards
Dave
