Gosh, This is getting all very complicated, Load, Pitch control etc. Has anyone tried the Shock Wave sound card from Canada, I'm told they develop various tank sounds with built in amps and good price too. A chap off UK tanks says their pretty realistic.

Have only seen Sherman on you tube, there must be more examples to listen to out there.

Using single stick control does give the opportunity to add superimposed recorded sounds using Benedini mini, or as in the Quad where I'm using a Graupner Sound Switch One. The grind and crunch of the gears can easily be added along with poor starting sounds and anything else I can record/download. The clever device can generate different outputs, light switching, static and acceleration the latter providing a puff of smoke from the smoker.

When the running Tiger 131 was unveiled to the public, I was expecting a super rasping V12, then disappointed to hear that it sounded like a old 3 ton Bedford truck my dad owned back in the 60's. Gear changes were heavy and the tracks tension whip on each change was frighting, but even with the oil pressure problems it tore up the lush ground at Bovington like a monster with no respect for anything.

Would modellers wanting true realism want the track whip too? even with a pre selector gearbox 131 had few smooth transitions.

If so it's back to track maintenance then if you want to make it home.
Oh Man, I only ride em I don't know what makes them work,
