Graham - all you need to do is swap over the connections to channels 1 and 2 on the receiver - that will get the tracks working and the turret rotation back to where you were. Sound plugged into channel 4. Sorry I cant remember what the light signifies. If the sound is not working you may have a blown fuse or possibly the sound card may need reteaching (see instruction book).

Tested with servo to simulate action.
Servo connected into Receiver
Connection 1. turret rotation both ways r/h stick sideways
2. r/h stick forward forward and reverse
3. l/h stick forward and reverse
4. l/h stick sideways movement presumably sound
5. small switch gun elevation

When all reconnected in Tank no luck.

Bypassed sound unit by plugging in leads from 4QD DMR203 direct into receiver connections 2 and 3 and now have both track independent and forward and reverse.
Nothing else works except turret which still goes one way.

I have no sound unit instructions and don,t know how to "reteach" the unit.

Graham very hard to diagnose from a distance- much easier with the tank in front of you, shame you live so far away . Firstly the turret turn - I presume this is being operated by the Electronize switching unit. Did you take the case off the switching unit and examine the terminals and the board as I suggested? Sounds like a fault with the wiring or the board. As I said before I would be very surprised if the unit survived the fire wholly intact. This is probably why elevation is not working. Unfortunately Electronize don't make these units anymore. If you have got the tracks working as they should by bypassing the sound unit then there may be a problem with the unit caused by shorting out. Do you have another sound unit you can temporarily substitute? I'm sure Armortek can supply you with an instruction manual but you may need to send the unit back to them to establish whether repairs are feasible. Obviously before reconnecting everything make sure you have corrected the initial fault. Adrian may be able to provide further input.

Is there an alternative to the Electowise switching unit?
I have had the back off, nothing burnt, but how do you test them?

I've some spare 48B-2w electronize switchers (used) left. Open for reasonable offers.

As I mentioned in a previous post Graham I would be replacing the Electronize switching unit with speed controllers. Electronize do suitable units- you will need forward and reverse ones and one for the elevation and one for the turret turn. Others are available and everyone will have their favourites. It would then be better to move the sound channel to the 3 position switch. I'm sure other owners can offer other solutions.Obviously the full Armortek module route is the best way.

Sorry Graham I think the only way to check the switching units is to use a voltmeter on the positive and ground output wires whilst switching in both directions.
