In time I believe Armortek will make a King Tiger. And here's my two cents (lately worth closer to 1.25 cents) on the matter:
1. By using shared components of a KT to also produce a series such as the Hunting Tiger, Sturmtiger, or Elefant then the initial investment will make even more sense.
2. It would cost less to first produce a Hunting Tiger since it is simpler to make than the KT. But I wonder if this would sell sufficiently in numbers, or as well as would the KT?
3. At first glance I thought "so what", a 1/6 KT is not so big! But as I look closely at the dimensions:
LOA with Barrel: 171.3 cm 67.5 inches (5-1/2 feet)
LOA body alone: 127 cm 50 inches
Height: 51.5 cm 20.3 inches
Width with skirt: 62.8 cm 24.8 inches
And if made true to life, a 1/6 scale KT should probably have a top speed on road of 6.3 kph (3.9 mph), or 2.8 kph (1.8 mph) off road. Incidentally, it should run off batteries for 13.3 km (8.3 miles) cross country - from one charge!
I guess a true to scale King Tiger would weigh about 454 kg (1,000 lbs.). Lee Sellars suggested an Armortek KT might come in around 350 kilos (770 lbs)
How many people who wish for the KT can fit it into their vehicle, and also have that vehicle manage the weight while not making the vehicle too rear heavy?
So my final conclusion, flying in the face of economics and reason will be to vote for the King Tiger, Henschel version, but made entirely of Magnesium, Titanium and Carbon Fiber
