Hello David ...Here is a photo of my turret brass bearing . I bolted it down onto the deck . I'm happy with the way it turns . But it could be better !!!. I'm interested in seeing some photos of the work you have done . If you are having trouble uploading your photos just e mail them to me and i will put them up for you . Dale.

Hi Dale
I have bolted my brass ring in place like yours but on the Panther it is one peice this is an improvement on all the later kits.
I have back filled the screw heads and skimmed them dead smooth.
the turret turns but it seems to be picking up on the turret base
in one position which happens to be in line with the mantlet.
I suspect the turret base being alloy is not dead flat and I am seeing a high spot.
Also as I have made all my own tool stowage one part ot the edge of the turret
when turning just clips a turn screw on the starter rod holder so gaining a 1mm or so with a PTFE ring under the turret would give me clearance.
And PTFE is a real good bearing surface.

What about this company?

This site looks like it makes something like what you folks are looking for and I am seriously thinking about getting one. Looks darn close to the size we need 12 3/4"

And can support the weight for sure.

Hi James ,
I think the only problem with that type bearing is the thickness. Looks like the 12.75" diameter one is 5/8th inch thick. that would make the turret sit quite high.

Your right David, I failed to take the thickness into account.

Wonder if they could make a thinner one? Might send them an email.

Here is a picture of the bottom ring now secured in position with the top ring to one side . Hope this clarifies everything
