With just four days to go it looks like we are going to have a very busy weekend ahead! Preparations are going well and from Wednesday this week we will be stopping all production and despatches to prepare the factory for your visit. There is still a lot of information to convey so I apologise in advance for what is going to be a very long post.

Timing
We will open at 10 am on both days. On previous years those who have arrived a little early have been allowed 'in', however in order to allow ourselves time for last minute preparations we will be opening the gates at 10 am. If you do arrive a little early then we recommend a coffee and perhaps a bacon buttie at the Dunkeswell air centre just 5 minutes walk away on the other side of the main road . They are open from 9am. Those who are trading will be able to come in from 8.30 am to set up.

Parking
Due to the estate we are on being very busy, all our neighbouring units are occupied so we have been unable to secure any off road parking. However this is not a problem as there is plenty of available space along the road (please park on our side, right) and on the road that runs along the back of our building (please park on the left). Those of you bringing models will be able to unload these at our gate before parking your vehicle.

Frequency Control
This brings us on to frequency control. This was much easier last year with many now on 2.4 gHz. For those who are still on 40 mHz please let me have your frequency preferably in advance and I will advise you of anyone who is running on the same as you so that you can liaise with each other before running to ensure safe running.

Checking in.
When you arrive please go firstly to see Sara and Mark who will be on the gate, checking you in, handing out the information packs containining important information for the day, and most importantly for the Armortek customers your refreshment vouchers! For those with Armortek models they will also give you a number to display as your models will automatically be entered in to the competition. (Saturday only)

Trading Post
This is a real life forum 'For Sale and Wants' .
We will provide an area where you can post your 'for sale and wants' of any products related to this hobby or any Armortek vehicle. All we ask is that the products are complimentary rather than competitive to Armortek ( i.e. not other makes of models and vehicles)

We are very pleased to be joined again this year by Lee Sellars of Newthorpe Models, Dave Dibb of Armorpax, Russell Hadler of Barbarossa Books, Steve Winstone and Tim Catton

We are also delighted this year to be joined by Thomas Bendini from Germany who will be giving a talk on his sound unit on Saturday at around 11am. He will also be with us on Sunday morning to chat to anyone who has any questions about his products.

Auctions
We will be having 3 sealed bid auctions this year. These will be detailed in a separate post which we will post tomorrow. Bids will be accepted up until 11am on Sunday and announced around midday.

There will be lots more happening on each day as well of course as the opportunity to run your vehicles and this will all be detailed in your welcome letter on arrival.

Saturday evening
As has become a bit of a tradition now, on Saturday evening after the days event we will be relaxing, having a drink or two and a bite to eat at the Dunkeswell Air Centre.

If you wish to join us, please email me (sales@armortek.co.uk) or reply on this post so that I can let the Air Centre know how many to expect. For those who have not been before, it is a casual evening, there is a licensed bar and good simple home cooked food which is reasonably priced.

(Please remember if you wish to go to the Air Centre for the Sunday Carvery this must be booked with them directly by ringing 01404 891226)

A final update will be posted on Thursday including directions for those visiting us for the first time.

Well this is going to be the final post from us before Saturday. We have had a very busy couple of days and all being well after one more we should all be ready for your arrival on Saturday morning.

Just a few final details.

I will be calling the air centre tomorrow to give them final numbers for Saturday evening, if anyone else is interested please let me know asap. If you have mentioned to me that you are coming, or assumed that I know, but have not actually emailed me or posted here please do contact me to remind me!

We will be opening at 10.00am. As well as the road parking previoulsy mentioned our neighour directly opposite has kindly offered to let us use his unit as they are not working this weekend. There will be signs showing you where this parking is.

If you have a model to unload you can do this at our gate and then park your vehicle. If you are not on 2.4 gHz please check with Gill for clearance first.

We will have a limited amount of seating available, if you have a fold up chair you may wish to bring one along.

Directions

For those with Sat Nav the post code is EX14 4RD. This should get you close!

For those without:

From the M5 come off at Junction 26. (approx 15 – 20 minutes)

Follow signs to the A38, then proceed towards Exeter, after a mile or so take a left signposted to ‘Monument’. Follow this road until you reach a cross roads at the top of a very steep winding hill, go straight across (slightly to right) proceed down hill into Hemyock. Follow road through village, bear left at the Catherine Wheel Pub, driving past with the pub on your left hand side. Follow this road until you reach Dunkeswell. You will see the airfield on the right and Flightway is the first turning on the left after the 30 sign. We are on the right half way down this road.

From Honiton (approx 10 – 15 minutes)

Take the road signposted to Dunkeswell (also the Canadian Maple Leaf) from the A30.

After about 4 miles bear off to the left (signposted Dunkeswell). Follow this road down though the village and right out to the other side until you see the airfield on your left. Flightway in the last turning on the right before you reach the national speed limit sign.

We are on the right half way down this road.

Have a very safe journey and we very much look forward to seeing you all.
