Re: Real or fake
That first photo is defo not real!
I still get a kick from the destruction photos, and I still get a kick from spending hundreds of hours building stuff and then destroying it....it's my problem and I shall deal with it!

Re: Real or fake
Love the Famo, only the CSK screws give it away.
> Whats that tank behind the heferlump, it looks like a Sherman recovery of some sort.
Judging by the centre roller bogies and the superstructure, I would say it's an M31 Grant based recovery tank.
Both it and the Elefant were used in Italy, so I guess that's where that picture was taken.

Re: Real or fake
That was a double take moment I really thought that was just another Famo photo from the internet. She looks just great even the stitching on the canvas looks convincing. Your doing my job for me Armortek.

Re: Real or fake
Thats different, if your going to jump a heavy vehicle you need as much forward speed as possible or it will land like a 30 ton brick! The driver has some "balls" to keep the throttle wide open. I think its real too.

Re: Real or fake
That's a real ugly thing! I also jumped with my M 48 about 7 metres along, but involuntarily!
There was a big hole made by the sappers, midst in a young pine tree forest, that I saw too late. We had to drive rather fast, without seeing more than 10 metres. My tank 'flew' over this hole, cowered at the edge of the other side and 'took off' over the earth wall! The crew consisted of young officer cadets who had not any experience in tanks moving in heavy grounds, but they had to command the tanks!
The guy on the commanders seat was injuried by the hatch cover, the loader also. The gunner had a black eye caused by the gunsight. I myself was dashed against the main gun. Only the tank was clear.......
The 2 guys looking out high up of the turret had seen the hole, and they thought I also could see it, but that was impossible.

Re: Real or fake
Seems like tanks are dangerous things, even to their own crews !!

Re: Real or fake
Yes, maybe; especially when the 'crew' consists of 3 newbies, who may command the tank in turn the first time in their life! Only the drivers were professionals, of course. Even the group commander was a newbie, and they all were graded for their commanding. The real crew members all stood on a commanding height and looked at the disaster!
But there were some more dicey situations, e.g. a little accident with a fully loaded American artillery ammunition semi-trailer truck on a flat bridge without railing that was a little small for both the truck and my tank. The truck fell over just after the bridge, and the driver was very ungracious when climbing out of his cab.......
