Lots more done, I tend to work on many things at the same time, this way paint can be drying while I fettle, fit and assemble other pars.

Thanks Mark that's just the ticket, I think Kent has some competition!
Some more progress on the turret.

That's a big milling machine you have there Phil. Looks like a Bridgeport clone. Will be interested to see the end result.

Found an interesting Henchel factory drawing at Panzerbasics from the Per Sonnervik collection that might be of interest regarding the mantle/hatch issue. It looks as there was a bit of problem in 1:1 or at least on VK45.01 but I dont think it was any changes here later in the Tiger1 production.

Kind regards
Kent

Thanks Kent, that drawing seems to show a 1.1 interference/protrusion over the hatches, now that along with the large mantlet gap and we have a bigger interference issue.
Hi Vince, yes that a serious bit of kit as far as modeling goes! I have had to ask a local engineering company to do the work as it need to be right.
I have just assembled the unit and I think it looks ok, any tighter and the pivot angles on the turret may be a problem. That's just 3.5 mm removed, care being taken as the pivot mount was 12 thou thicker at one end before we started, so around 4 mm in total . I will post photos tomorrow. 8)

That looks so much better with the reduced gap.
Also love how the rifling insert looks.
