Hi to all and thanks for your comments
Had a bit of a rest from tank building over the weekend, but did a bit more recently, with the floor i cut the plates i needed to go inbetween the bolt heads ready for a batterie tray to be fitted .Image then i had a go at the vison ports around the cupola Image
Image
Image I used some thin perspex and some green plastic from a seven up bottle and sandwiched it together to go in the slots i think the green needs to be a bit darker not sure , i painted the back of the slot silver so i might darken that down a bit to get the green to come down a shade a bit ,whats your opinion guys let me know if you can please ,well thats it for now all the best ,,,,,,,,,,nick

Hi Nick,
I use some offcuts that I have of 2mm polycarbonate clear glazing
and if the holes were blind like on the Comet and the T34 drivers visor,
I painted them mat black and you just get the reflection like a mirror.
The T34 cupola holes were open so you can see through the polycarbonate.
If you want to try some I can post you some bits, they would be about
70mm x the 2mm and length to suit an envelope.
Regards
Phil

Hi phil
I have some poly clear plastic so i,m alright for the moment but thank you for the offer of assistance :) i may need your help when i get to the electrics  , i am going to order my extras very soon :D . I darkend down the paint behind the vision slots to try and get the green colour not so bright ,i would like the green to be a bit darker ,looking at pics from museums there seems to be a green tinge to the glass ,at least the bullet proof kind they used , so i am trying to do something on those lines this is what it looks like now .Image
Image
Image still needs a bit more tweeking ,i am holding off going with the black at the moment and just trying differant shades of coloures to see what happens these are darker but i might try it darker again before going for the black thanks phil for the advice and assistance . best wishes ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,nick

Hi Nick
Yes the darker seems to look better in your photo's.
You are right I have read that it did have a greeny blue tint.
Have fun trying different shades out.
Cheers
Phil

Hi Nick
You are not a "Dunce" just slightly confused and I
think I was born that way
I like to try and find out what is confusing me even
more :) So I googled it.

http://tiporama.com/tools/pixels_inches.html

Its a Pixel and DPI calculator and some info.
Now I know what a Pixel is and a DPI,but its not a scrap
of help to you or me.
WE used to just take our pic's,wack em into photobucket get em
back out and then into ya post, sit back and admire.
Oh those were the days.
I think we might have to leave it to the clever fella's
These pesky pixels and dpi's must be causing everybodys
orriginal pictures to be chopped off on the right and no scrolling
to see the rest.
It is easier to read like Adrian said.
Look forward to seeing your new pictures when the Fixers help us out :)
Regards
Phil

Nick - do you use an Apple or a PC - and if a PC, what version of Windows ?

The version of Paint shipped with Windows 7 has a Resize function.

Open the picture you want to resize.

Click on the Resize button on the ribbon at the top of Paint.

Select Pixels rather than Percentage.

In the Horizontal box, enter something like 600 and make sure the "Maintain aspect ratio" box is ticked.

Click OK and the picture should shrink before your eyes.

Click on the drop-down-arrow to the left of Home tab at the top of the screen and select "Save As".

Give the reduced picture a name which is different from the original - otherwise you'll lose the full sized picture.

Make sure the "Save as type" box is set to JPEG.

Click on the Save button.

Upload to the Forum as before.

As you have Win7 then give it a go with Paint - it really is as easy as that list makes out.

Looking forward to more pictures
