Re: David's carrier build.
Another good afternoon on the universal carrier, I've said it before but if you can overcome the track and drive issues then this is a very rewarding kit, we can always help out with those issues although I don't need the work.

Re: David's carrier build.
Hi Dave, it might be worth asking about the " this vehicle is filled with anti freeze" and so on stencils, these look the business to!
A question for maybe Adrian, is it possible to have the machine gun led firing using the uc mini sound card, if anyone knows it will be Adrian !

Re: David's carrier build.
Hi Phil,
No chance with the stencils at present. Our etchers packed up and called in the liquidators with just over a weeks notice. We are working on alternate suppliers but I have ditched most over the years to get the quality we had. I am hopeful we will have a new source soon but anyone who can etch has been flooded with all the other customers not just us. The likelihood is any new ones will be ok from a functional quality point of view but far more likely to tarnish quickly.
As far as etched products go, what we have is it for now.
Best regards
Dave

> is it possible to have the machine gun led firing using the uc mini sound card
Just tested my UC sound card and the answer is Yes and No.
Yes, in that the LED outputs (1 & 2) for the two machine gun sounds are active.
No, because the guns sounds on this card are actual recordings of gunfire, not the short blip Thomas usually uses, so you only get one flash at the start of the sound, not the usual flickering effect. Also, the second recording sounds like a rifle to me, and starts with the bolt being operated, so the LED flashes at the start of the sound, not when the gun actually goes bang.
I would put in an Arduino or similar that was triggered from the two outputs from the sound card and flashed two LEDs at the right times in the sound.
Adrian.

Re: David's carrier build.
So Dave we are ok for the decals then, shame about the stencils, sometimes it's a battle to get good suppliers and now it's a battle to find any! I despair on occasion trying to source parts and materials and with the post office now striking its so difficult you must be pulling your hair out.
Thanks Adrian for the advice reference the universal carrier mg output or the lack of output.

Re: David's carrier build.
A big pity about the stencils. Hopefully some will be around shortly and Dave can be back in business with them.

- The batteries fit. A question for the boss, we have one naked battery and one with an integral tray mount, we really need two
naked for the battery box and one with the tray mount to fit under the radio set, so we are short of one naked. Now I can leave out the radio battery and mill the tray away so it will fit in to the battery box or we need another naked?

Looking good Phil
I think the cans would be better Green rather than black.
As for the radio I'll see if I can get another naked one.

Re: David's carrier build.
The actual fuel tanks rather than auxiliaries, just the fronts though due to the servos. Battery in the tray goes under the radio in the back. Have you not got the parts location pics etc?
