Re: John's Late Tiger 1
Thanks Nick and Bob for the nice comments. I have not been completely idle lately. I have been working on the commander's seat for the late tiger. I hope it will be fully functional but probably not spring loaded. I will add some pictures of progress soon.

Re: John's Late Tiger 1
Some photos of first seat parts. I know there is a resin version of the seat available. I have one of those but it is wrong for the late tiger and seats the commander too high. This one is based on the drawings on David Byrden's site. This one will place the commander in the correct periscope position. Resin seat is available for anybody looking for one.

John,
Very nice. I had come to the same conclusions, nice to see you make the real thing.

Re: John's Late Tiger 1
Some more parts of the seat completed. Having trouble working out a way that the lever can operate the catch on the seat. Still more to do but almost there. I need to make the leather seat pads also.
When I finish this one I can make a full size one for my work room. only kidding.

Re: John's Late Tiger 1
Does anybody know the correct colour for the seat. In some photos it's grey. But wondering if this id just restoration colour?

Re: John's Late Tiger 1
Hi Lee, I thought it was other way round. Wermacht pink piping on jacket and white on SS oficers?
I'm no expert. I only made the seat, not the uniform.
If it's wrong blame Soldier Story. The 1:1 repro in my wardrobe dos'nt have pink either except on shoulder boards.

Re: John's Late Tiger 1
Thanks Nick and Yves also.
Happy enough with it. Gave up trying to figure a way to make the lever operate the seat catch. The springs sre for appearance only. I want to get everything fitted now. Just a few small items to do and mske a mechanism for the escape hatch. Then onto the radio operator and driver compartments.
Nick, i was yhinking about the hinged mudguards on yhe Panzer IV. There were visible springs between the flaps and footboards. I have found a useful source of small springs inside pens. The push top ones.

Hi John
White piping was infinity. Red was artillery . Black was pioneer maintenance. Green was recon. Blue was medical. The list goes on. Don't get me wrong you did get White panzer divisions but they was whermach. Artillery wasn't just field guns they had attached to them was the Jäger divisions or jagdpanthers nashorns wespe. On the crushers the silver band on the peak was for commisoned officers and non commissioned offices had non.
The seat is fantastic as normal.
