Y leeds
Hi Mick
Sounds like you are getting on fine with your electrics.
Re Y leeds
You will need second Y leed if you are going to split your MG's to fire
seperately.
Thought I would let you know while you were oredering your bits.
I will do a drawing and scan it at work so I can send it to you on the
Forum.
Cheers

Thanks Phil, thanks Dennis, I have checked that the sub loom is clear.....I was looking to fit the head and shoulders of the crew next to the opening hatch each side....then loader and tank commander in turret hatch.....
I can also recharge the batteries, although I will have to disconnect the links between the two.
I will await your instructions Phil.....ref Y leads.
Please keep in mind Phil/Dennis, I will be interested in your main 'gun flash' when you have finnalised the details.
I think it's the 'Boommmmmm' with the 'echo' that has turned my head.....sexy or what.... ....Mick

Relay and socket
Hi Mick
Found them
www.rswww.com
24vdc DPDT Relay part 253 4094 £3.82
Socket with screw terminals 400 9130 £ 3.67
You can see the pictures on the site incase you can get them cheaper.
Re extension leads
a longish one is better for the turret MG so you can clip it to the Loom
cable and have a bit of slack when the turret goes round.
Cheers

Diode
Hi Dennis
I followed the posting by Mark for connecting Tiger lights up,and adjusting
the end points of your switch sorts this out if you are using the 3rd
swiched channel on the auxiliary.
But if you try and operate something connected to a channel via a 2
position switch like switch G then it stays on in both directions regardless
of the end point settings.
I found this when I was trying to switch my search light on and off and
it stayed on all the time.
But then along came the Mg's so that took up my switch G.
So yes I wonder if that diode across the relay coil would solve that and
I could have used a relay on my search light.
But the 3rd switched channel on the auxiliary already has this sorted out
and I was able to use my spare Gun firing lead on to connection D
Cheers

Hello Phil, thanks for your advice and the drawing.....before I proceed, I note that Dennis has posted on this subject,
I have posted a note to Dennis, reference my screen display, suddenly stretching beyond the window.....I have to scroll along to read all your posts.....odd.
Now, next item....as I am proposing to dispense with my Blank Firer option, and also, I was considering not fitting the 'Limit Switches', thereby reducing the wiring in the loom, so, would there be a problem if I only use the wiring necessary in the turret, ie, M/G s , elevation wiring and main gun flash...? there is a lot of sub loom that is not needed....I think....?....Mick

limit switches
Hi Mick
I wouldnt do without the elevation limits just to save 4 cables that are
already inside a good cable sheath for protection.
Its a powerfull little motor and if you get carried away and over travell
with your gun you could damage the motor or fixings,or even to blow
a fuse is bad enough.
It wont be a couple of minute job to change a fuse in the comet power
supply up the front.
Cheers

PC Vidio settings
Hi Mick
I think its something to do with the vidio settings, there was a posting on
the subject not too long ago,I thoght it might be in the Comet section.
I try to do return/enter before the end of the little box and it fits on most
screens.
But thats only help for the text,Photo's need the vidio settings altered.
Cheers

Hello Phil/Dennis, I am assembling my smoker....does the heating element simply push fit into the heating tube...do you use anything to hold it in place?
I now have all my modules in place, and secure, with room to fit the driver and gunner. I have left the sub loom as it is, and will fit the limit switches. My Y lead is on order....I think I may go for the twin M/G flash first, see how that looks.
The 'sounds' are excellent, so I will use the main gun sound with flash when you have tested yours.....everything good.
Thanks again, Phil and Dennis, your advice has been a big help, I have made mistakes, but you both got me through my problems.
Just a side issue, my computer is still playing up, so, hand in pocket time .....Mick

smoke Eliment
Hi Mick
The element does just slide in,but if its a loose fit its best to fix it some how
so it cant work its way out and cause problems.
Probably a cable tie or similar.
Cheers

Hello Phil, thanks for that......at first I could not get the smoker to work, then found a lead loose in the plug/socket to the power supply.
Now, the smoker is smoking.....however there is more smoke coming out of the back of the fan, than the exhaust pipe. I have checked that I have the 'blank' plugs in the correct holes.....what now ....????
I have not sealed and fitted the copper/plastic pipes together yet, I wanted to test the smoker first. The smoke trickles out of the brass fitting.
