Not much to look at, at the moment but hopefully the cupola will take shape. filled the inside with chemical metal and turned it down on the lathe to a rough shape. Plenty of mr dremel work here.

the cupola is a
other challenge ,lots of detail here to make the best of the kit parts,i painted the muzzle and vent cover,and started on the turning wheel for the cupola,the end result will be as near as with the tools i have,,regards simon manning

Looking at your excellent muzzle I have a little tip for you.
The washer between the muzzle and the barrel ring was dented into the square dug outs to prevent the muzzle to turn loose.

Please look here at the Vimoutier Tiger I


And the Saumur Tiger I

(bare in mind the Saumur muzzle is mounted almost up side down for some unknown reason. )
The same dent was seen on Panthers as well as Tiger II but is not that well known...
You can have the first 1:6th tank with that dent as I have never seen anyone done it before.
It is all in the details!

Outstanding Simon You must be very happy. Your cupola interior looks great.

In regards to the muzzle brake, finding a scale thickness material that I could shape cleanly for that washer was difficult for me on the Panther's muzzle brake. I did attempt to "ding" mine into that cutout but it doesn't look nearly as good as those real ones.

Everything on yours looks superb Simon.

Hi Simon, stunning cupola work! Never realize there are so much of work could be done on it.
Also praise again on Kent's eagle eye, on the washer's small dent of the muzzle brake.

thanks kent ,the eagle eye at its best,praise from wiggytronics is greatly accepted, cut and altered the periscope covers and soldered the backs on to them, i made the cupola to accept mike stannards periscopes ,the soldered welds on the mg ring need to be made smaller,and finnished off,another interesting item to improve,more than you see at first glance.

Heres the first of 2 rear mud guards. scratch built with help from Lord Winstone of Waltham Abbey. soldering is a whole new skill to learn, but its testing me.
