Armortek

Here's the last of the floor post's, some minor finishing to do when installed, a bit of Artistic license on the Handbrake cog, Field Mod!, now on to the steering wheel and Dash bulkhead, regards simon.

During this week this is the part iv'e been working on, steering wheel column boss, as near as i could get using photo's, regards simon.

I have never thought about the steering wheel, a very visual part of the vehicle, i enhanced the wheel with a covering of silver foil and made the centre boss on the Lathe, most part's for the front of the 7 are now made, all for now on my sunday input, regards simon.

Looking good Simon, how accurate is your chequer plate, as I have to reproduce the same for a similar project I'm working on?
I'm guessing you did your research and it's just how it was.

Thanks Jeff and Phil for the encouragement, i am now at the crucial part of working out how to fit the rear body to the side panel's, making some measurements and marking out, adding some fixing's so as to be able to remove if trouble strikes, access electric's, winch etc. all for now, regards simon

my approach to a solution for sdkfz is something different.
I want all RC components to work first, and then I'll take care of the details of my sdkfz 7

Thanks Heiko, this is just a fitting trial, none of the model is assembled, i have worked out how the electrics go in, the new Armortek motion pack is much smaller and will all fit in the front and under the drivers seat, i cant wait until you start your sdkfz 7, it will be a superb build log to follow, many thanks simon.

Thank's Frank for the praise, This Part of the build has been slow, Trying to match and fit the Matata rear Body section to the Armortek chassis and panels, i reinforced the rear body section with metal and extra strengthening so i could drill and tap to fit the stowage baskets on the deck, i also made the spare wheel carrier to fit under the rear, The detail in the doors of the rear section are superb and this is what tempted me to use this part, making all those would take an age, Hat's off to Michael Matata for making them so well, still plenty of work on this section to complete, all for now regards simon.

Lovely work Simon, like the extra detail on the spare wheel carrier - this needs an engine!

Thanks Dave for the post, i have been adding the detail to the interior panel's, time consuming, all made from Brass and soldered into place, as said before you see as much inside as outside, it's like making two model's in one, regards simon.

Thanks Gary, most of what i've learnt has been through this Forum and from other builder's, this intersection of Panel's and joining them has been difficult, Making it all fit has been a challenge, on the kit part the side panel doesn't fit very well, it needs more length added to bring it to the curve of the mudguard so it fits more flush, that's nearly one side completed, all for now, regards simon.
