I will need to get more referance books the two i,ve got dont give much info on the inside details so i,ll see how things go i might have a go at something .
I made a patern sunday for the rear mud guard ends and started them on my break in work ,happy with the way they came out
so tonight i fitted the hinges and put a false top on them with solid rivets i just need to do a bit of work on the guards on the tank and then i should be able to fit them

i am going to fit the side springs on the guards as well as soon as i have the springs to do this .

finished off the rear guards and added the springs to them and started to put the armorpax parts on the rear end i made two hooks for the towe cable they look more like the ones in the drawings and bolted them on as well ,Next will be the front guards and springs to sort out .

i have not posted for a bit not enough time , but have still been doing some things when i can ,i have done some of the extra bolts and details to the rearend . the first pic is the angles across the back this next pic is the end corners fake bolts both ends are done the next two pics show the rear edge and the vent tops with solid rivets added
the next two pics show the bullet guard that went around the turet atached to the deck there is still to do a lot of fake weld s to add later on
these next three pics are of a extra bin i made to go on the back ,the back was looking a bit empty due to not having the large muffler on this model pz4 so i decided to add the extra bin between the exhaust stacks ,it looks a bit like my nans coal bin perhaps its been liberated from somewhere by the crew.

looking good nick. you're leaps and bounds in front of me. i've intended to do the bulllet stop as well. if you can post the measurements that would be great. thanks for the reply re: reear air intake. i rebuilt them and now there correct. cheers for that.

Love your coal bin. Must have taken quite a bit of coal to run a Panzer IV. I suppose by the time of the J model coal was a better alternative to petrol.
The exhausts look great in the shot from above.

The box will be a great place to store some spare fuses.

steam powered tanks the new wonder weapon thats why they got rid of the gun travers ,to make room for the stoker
got to keep a good head of steem .
Ray the box is aluminium welded but i have made some good boxes out of 2mm thick wood glued together and i think phil phitzpatric has made some out of metal for his T34 and they look good ,check out his posts on his T34 i dont know how he made them, worth asking . The bullet guards going round the turret ,now i have done the best i could getting them how they are on my model the problem is that getting dimensions from the drawings in books is not always accurate their is nearly always discrepancies creeping in unless you are working from original plans ,so just letting you know that mine are not 100% accurate they are my best guess .In the picture i have numbered them 1 to 7 So all the angle cuts are 17.5 degrees from 90 degrees so number one has a strait end going to a angle cut 17.5degrees it is cut 100mm to the longest point ,,,,,,,,,,,number two has both ends cut at 17.5degrees it is cut at 120mm to the longest point,,,,,,number three ,four and five are the same as number 2 and number 6 is cut the same as number one except the strait end and angle end are oposite,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, number 7 is strait both ends and is 100mm long . in the picture my number 7 is a bit short its up to you .ANY ERRORS ARE ALL MINE ,,,SORRY HOPE THIS IS USEFUL TO YOU Ray all the best to all ,,,,,,, nick

I have been making the mud guard brackets to try and stiffen them up a bit so have been looking at lots of pics to try and make them look as close as i could first are the (midle brackets ,well thats what i call them)
there are two of these ,a left and right .Next is the front bracket on the right side there is not one on the left side i then fitted the front mud guard higed pieces ,i have still got to do the spring parts yet
and finally i made a fuel can rack for the rear thats it so far regards to all ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,nick
