I see what you mean Adrian, it looks like the one in the video has saggy torsion bars, maybe almost down to the bump stops, the one that Mark has surveyed looks a little higher.....Phil.

That is one enormous beast . How are people planning on transporting it ? Looks like it'll need its own car transporter !

Just for fun: There was another enormous wheeled vehicle used by Luftwaffe to carry the FLAK 18, 36, 37 and 41. Lower but longer(10.29 meters) than FAMO (8.32meters).

This going to be an impressive model. The design models look amazing. Agree the rubber track pad is a great detail.

I don't think a 18 ton tractor is made for suspension travel however. Take a look at this video:


At about :48 sec into it goes over a hill. The front wheels come off - but the suspension barely moves. This a called some stiff springs! There isn't much clearance between the track fender for wheel movement, so I don't think it needs much. This thing was made for brute force pulling.

One could use the model for a garden tractor!
Wish I had a bigger garage for one <and checking account> LOL.

Found in facebook, about a FAMO was transported to Overloon, Belgian today.

I think I want to marry it and have it's children!

This will be a fantastic day out there

Have been driving this FAMO in 2016 , so cool !

UPDATE ON THE FAMO

Design work has been progressing well and is now 95% complete. Prototyping is scheduled to start in a week or so - we are just finishing off on the last Panzer III parts and getting mentally prepared for our largest kit ever.

Some stats ... subject to change during the prototyping stage:
No of components - 3975 (incl. fasteners)
No of unique components - 318
Weight of each front tyre - 2KG !!!!!!

Size ... BIG

Plan is to have a prototype ready in time for Tankfest at the end of June and are looking to see if we can open the factory on a Saturday in early July where it will be on display.
For those of you going to Hausen am bach in Germany at the end of July, we hope to have the Famo running and towing any broken down models out the way

The stats sound fantastic I am so glad that you Armortek have undertaken such an imposing model, it's what Armortek is all about, what with the unique RR and now this enormous tractor the brand is only going from strength to strength , I can't wait to build the Famo and get the vehicle finished so it can be filmed in its various recovery and pulling scenarios, I have a Panther and a Tiger 1 and a huge V2 just for that purpose. it's been a long time coming!
