Re: GROUP BUY - LiFePO4 batteries
The manufacturer we are buying our batteries from does not deal with private sales - we had looked at this option for you guys.
Perhaps those who run LIFePO4 batteries can recommend where they bought theirs from as Chis has done above.

Re: GROUP BUY - LiFePO4 batteries
The options for purchasing appropriate batteries are many. eBay, Amazon, Banggood, AliExpress and many others. I sent away for my last group of cells. Took 2 months but the price was less than half what a local company wanted for the same cells. Anticipate your needs/requirements and purchase in advance. My last group was 8 100AH cells I intend to use for my JagdTiger.

Re: GROUP BUY - LiFePO4 batteries
Would it not be viable to add a percentage mark up to the original price to cover you for any potential issues with defective batteries?

Armortek. It might not even be from the original purchaser but even from a second or third hand buyer or family.
To make a few bucks/pounds/euros, or none at all isn't worth it. I've not sold a model in years but if/when I do the batteries won't be part of the deal...

Re: GROUP BUY - LiFePO4 batteries
Hi everyone
I bought the batteries for my PZ III here:
https://www.lipotech.net/newstore/
These are these, I've been using them for over 10 years:
https://www.lipotech.net/newstore/lte/1 ... -22ah.html
they are also found similar or the same from other sellers.
they don't have BMS,
if you want it it should be added,
I don't use it,
I use radio telemetry and do the balanced charge with a specific charger at 1C at the fairs at 1/2 C at home.
regards
Marco
P.s.
I don't use the BMS at my own risk, aware of what I risk

Re: GROUP BUY - LiFePO4 batteries
I somehow missed this and I would have been sad to miss out.....I am just now starting to think about batteries.
Anyone have opinions about this brand: Eco-Worthy
https://uk.eco-worthy.com/collections/1 ... te-battery
Not quite as good constant current, but 30A seems good enough. About the same in all other aspects, including price....and comes with a BMS built in.

Re: GROUP BUY - LiFePO4 batteries
Hi all,
especially a BMS in a 12 V battery would not be my first choice, when 24 V are needed. Using 2 batteries you have to charge them individually, which is somehow inconvenient in my eyes. If a BMS is desired, it should be a 24 V version combined with single cells or a 24 V battery with built-in BMS. In Germany e.g. I-TECC offers such cells and BMS versions in several sizes. They also complete the whole set to a battery if desired.

I'm using a pair of those in my King Tiger. So far this seem quite sufficient. I paid a tad more for mine.Gian Marco Menozzi wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 7:21 pmHi,

Re: GROUP BUY - LiFePO4 batteries
I bought that brand (not that particular battery) for my Pershing off of Amazon. Two 12 volt batteries and I do charge then individually. So far so good.neil graham wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 2:27 amI somehow missed this and I would have been sad to miss out.....I am just now starting to think about batteries.

Next time I think I will try a single 24 volt but they are not as common as the 12 volt batteries. I don't recall why I went with the two 12 volt, size or cost?

Re: GROUP BUY - LiFePO4 batteries
Why not buy 8 LiFe cells of about 30 Ah each, some connectors and a 24 V BMS, if wanted? The assembling is no rocket science, indeed. Here two packs of 4 cells of 40 Ah each, seperated for easier handling.
Here the wiring of one pack; the other pack is wired equally. With this kind of wiring one can use either a BMS or another kind of monitoring the cells, just as desired. With this model I'm using single cell monitoring when charging and discharging, without a BMS.
Another model of mine has a BMS, and at another application (emergency power source for my home) I'm even using a combination of charging without BMS and discharging with BMS, because my Unsi charger has a finer cell monitoring and more balancing current than the used 24 V BMS with 150 amps continuous current and 500 amps peak current.
