Update time, after playing lots with recoil and servo's I have finally given up and gone with CO2. I couldnt get the right return movement with the heavy barrel.

And the linear servo is working great for elevation, the slew is waiting for a speed controller but works just the same as elevation.

Moving MG was next on the list and with a little plate and a servo this was achieved.

Awesome Paul. To recharge the CO2 bottle, do you have to take it out of the tank?

Vince, this is still the prototype, I’m looking into a tank that can be filled, but even so the welding bottle is easy to change on the Jag

Pretty happy with how all this is working, just needs a little more tidying up one day.
In the picture you can see audio amplifier top right corner, regulators for CO2 bottom right, bottom middle is the 24v lifepo4 battery, then welding bottle on the left side. Middle top is the main gun elevation, co2 recoil and slew servo.

MK2 of the gun elevation now has a 12v linear actuator to replace the linear servo which broke the top off at a show, the actuator is controlled with a small 12v esc from Beier.

CO2 system comprising of 600g disposable welding gas bottle, piped to the duel regulators, the first to show bottle pressure and the output set at 40 psi for the main gun Recoil, the second is a lower pressure 5psi used for gun smoke. Both systems are solenoid activated by the Beier Usm rc3.

With a background in sound and AV a high quality sound was always high on the list of priorities.
With space available 4 x 4” Jbl coaxial speakers were used and 1 x 8” Jbl subwoofer.

Mdf boxes were made to exact fit the space.

They sit above the electrical system of fuses relays etc (no Armortek red boxes are used on my build)

Power is supplied by a 4x100w 24v truck amplifier from Ampire in Germany

Started work on some hatch animation, turned out good so far, will mod servo to give some extra rotation.

Been playing with gun smoke again, I wasn’t happy with the projection or amount of smoke.

Much happier now, just some timings to adjust.

Thinking about offering a gun smoke solution to other owners if there is interest, but I need to iron out some triggering problems with benedini based tanks.

Hi Paul,

the first suitable gun firing and smoke system I have seen. Congratulations!
