I've been looking for sounds from the Chieftan APU on YT. Tick over sounds etc for the second sound unit I want to fit.
at the same time, I found these cool clips.

The sound is replicated very well on the Armortek sound module 2nd recording of 2.
Of course, It'll will sound much better inside the model's speaker box. 8)

Also at the same time, found this smoking Chieftain with an odd shaped exhaust box, reminiscent of an American tank.

Found this at a local military Museum...I may volunteer there to get involved with some of their work in addition to what I do on the Hornet.

Will the asthmatic L60 start in the winter wonderland ?

Yeah, course it would, eventually. Another episode from the 1:1 scale boys.

Nice Chieftain POV startup. 8)

Shame the glorious revving cacophony sounds couldn't replace the dad's army sound alike band music on the sound amp on the model. :D

A newish clip from the boys with 1:1 toys. Cleaning the Chieftain before shipping. I think leaving the hatches open was a bit of a mistake though.
Hope there's a drain plug for that. :|

How to start a Chieftain MTB great close up detail.

Removal of the Chieftain MTB engine and gearbox, great detail.

Chieftain ready for shipping to the USA, sounds great.

Chieftain gets it's L60 fitted.
It'll be a bright new Berlin camo when completed. apparently so it will stand out at the shows 8)

If you wondered what happened to the Chieftain tank sold to the young American gentleman, who had it delivered home to the patron state of blowing stuff up, here you go.
Errrrrr, well, the L60's was still pulling strong to the end of the clip.

Absolutely bonkers! I wonder what Mr Hewes thinks of it?

Phil, as long as the cheque didn't bounce who cares?

Here's a nice bright Berlin Chieftain with turret traverse trouble, even "Battle Mode" couldn't sort it.

New/old stock parts to the rescue.
1960's circuitry, what a nightmare but a great insight to the complexities of the wiring from that era.

The Next Chieftain episode, yes it broke down a couple of times but so did the CVR(T). Bit of tinkering all good. :|
Beeper's working well. Think I'll stick to 1/6 scale

A nice updated better camera quality, Chieftain walk round. 8)

As with all things mechanical, sometimes all they need a little TLC.
Always fearing the worst with the Chieftain seems to be nothing more than hear say .
A couple or so second hand batteries, tighten up the slack, easy fix, even I could do it. 🤞
Can't get enough of the revving asthmatic L60.🤣

Great bit of maintenance on a Chieftain, proving soundness of the L60, even if it's fueled with water :?
I'm sure it's taking the Multi fueled engine to another level? Sounds great too!
