Simon,
Having to work in such trying conditions must be aweful.. Heated shop and slaving by the beach!

I admire your perserverance! Just kidding, thanks for the photos. I don't think I would get much work done by the beach though.

Nice looking shop too. Three big tanks side by side :P

Simon,

What a set up, put my garage to shame.

Here is a photo I took about three years ago of a set of fiffels made by/for a guy called Paul. I can't remember his surname but he had to give up the 1/6th tanks due to ill health. I thought that these maybe the ones you had acquired, but I see subtle differences with the caps.

Here are some pictures of the conversion of my Armortek filters to make the twin drum earlier type. Made from a broom handle, plasticard and P38 body filler!!! No good for the "must be metal" people I'm afraid. Apologies for the quality of some of the pics.

Just received the snow shovels from Mike Stannard. Very nice, and the tiger is coming on slowly.

I admit, I'm a metal monger - preferring metal parts to anything else for tanks. But I also can appreciate ingenuity  and creative use of any material available to achieve the right look or function for a part. My hat is off to anyone who tries to make something from nothing (scraps, wood, metal, plastic).

Still plugging away on the tiger, now the evenings are longer - makes for a bit more modelling time, the Stannard hatches came with the kit. It goes without saying the Stannard track ropes are superb.

Many thanks,

Simon

Hi Simon

Beautiful! Will your Tiger be a North African campaign Tiger? Parts, detailing and paint look awesome!

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Hi Simon great work on the Tiger, or should I say Pride, as you have a large family of cats lurking in that fabulous workshop of yours, keep the pictures coming

Your tiger is coming along really well. I see you've got a heated workshop but this cold snap of weather has put a bit of a stop on my modelling, once it gets to freezing it's too cold to do much work.

Currently trying out different colour schemes and markings. noticed fender cuts outs in pictures, have cut my fenders to replicate this. On this build I have applied a primer texture like Mr Surfacer. Its like very thick grey primer, used with a hot air gun, it can give good results.on my last build the paint came out fairly good but the tank up close looks to smooth, no grain, no imperfections unlike the real thing! I will try and get it right on this one.

Latest build images from the tiger build. The colour comes across very yellow due to the light.

Hi Simon,

Personally, I think you nailed the texture! That third photo down looks like I'm looking at one in a museum! Love it. Nice touch pushing down the wire mesh on the fan guard. You are going to have one heck of a Tiger when this one's completed.

As Jeff says, you have quite the armor collection. I'm a little jealous.

Regards

Tim
