Well, that was a GREAT day ............

Interesting speakers / demonstrators (thanks to Dave, David Fletcher, Lee and Stephen), lots of old (and new) friends to see (sorry if I didn't get to you all !), loads of food and constant drinks (well, it was a very hot day), goodies to buy / collect (including some super-rare Mark IV bits I didn't even know were in stock !) - everything an Armortekker could possibly want.

And a new model to talk about, Not to my taste, but it'll fill a very large gap in some people's collections, so I'm sure it'll sell well.

Many, many thanks to Kian, Monique and the girls for laying it on, Chris and the team for running the sales stand, and Mark and Gill just for being there :)

No better way to celebrate the birthday of the tank - the first ever tank attack was at Flers / Courcelette on 15 September 1916. What ? You didn't know ? :P

A very happy, slightly tired, and a bit sore (don't ask ),

Chris

Bottoms up Chris.... As the commentator said,
the Centurion exerts a ground pressure of 12 lbs/sqr in, which is considerable less than you're applying now to your lounge chair....
. He must have got his calculations wrong?

That aside, Kian, Monique and the team, including Gill and Mark, thank you for such a wonderful, memorable day. Never enough time to catch up with people (and it was the best attended Open Day for a long time), visitors from Germany, Belgium and the Czech Republic), a new model to celebrate, Chieftain looking quite majestic and some great offers and lots of superb models on display. A great Armortek day all round and it shows the strength of the Armortek community. I particularly enjoyed hearing David Fletcher on the M3, Lee Smith on the Tigers and Dave Dibb for again showing us how to do weathering, all first class. I'm only sorry for those of you brave enough to sit through my presentation without being able to see much on the screen because of the intense sunlight. Not that I'm complaining about sunlight. Thank you Armortek, a fine and memorable day.

Chris, you're indeed quite right to highlight the anniversary of the first tank action and Captain Harold Mortimore, commanding D1, who was first across the start line at Bourlon Wood.

I'd just like to say a big thank you to Kian, Monique and the girls too for making this such a pleasant/excellent event.
The food was spot on and a lot of effort on everyone behind the organisation of the day was obvious.
Again thank you very much for providing such an excellent event.

Had a really good day,Its the first time my Tiger has been out in public. Many thanks to Chris and Kian for sorting both my track and my smoke system issues out.It took all of 5 seconds for Chris to sort the track problem. Some very nice models were on display which makes me realise I've got some learning to do yet.

Stevens talk on the Centurian was very interesting and the research he did was incredible. Also the detail and weathering on his tanks was something I could only dream of.

Best regards Glen.
