Many thanks to Monique and Kian for’throwing the doors open’, it was my first visit and it was fascinating to see the factory and the kits both old a new. Also to get build advice from very friendly and helpful folks. We had a 290 mile round trip, but it was well worth the effort despite the best efforts of the weather gods.
Dave.

Thanks to all those that joined us yesterday - especially after the traffic mess on the local roads. I think the record saw someone having to spend almost 4 hours in the car to get to us from less than 100 miles away !! (sorry about that!).
Thanks also to the team - Chris, Bob and Mario for getting the factory spick and span for the event. We will probably need to spend most of Monday trying to find all the tools and raw materials again
Given that we did not have an Open Day this year, was a great opportunity to socialise and show off some of the models that we have made this year - the Rolls Royce, Panzer III, Famo, and now the M3 Lee & Grant.
Bosco (our dog) would also like to express his gratitude for all the treats although he may well now need to go on a diet
- Monique & Kian

Our journey down was slowed a little, so on our return to Oxford we country laned it via Hursley and Sparsholt on the west side of the City so avoiding all of the snarl ups on the east of Winchester, adding only three minutes to the predicted journey as compared to what it might have taken, a top tip for next time!
Seeing both the Grant and Lee was very thought provoking, it struck me how the models are going to make Tanks full of character and will produce a lot of interest from the public when they see the finished models running at events.
Thank you to the Team for the event and the excuse to escape work for the morning!
Steve

Sounds like a fun event. Too bad some folks got tangled up in bad traffic. It must be a global problem. Too many cars on the roads!

As someone who spends his life in factories all over the world, it’s easy to see the difference in the new factory, it looks new new CNC machines and a better layout flow etc. Be interesting to see more differences next time.
I didn’t get caught in traffic from Gatwick Airport, but saw it when I left and it didn’t look good.
Will eventually get home to malmo tomorrow.
When I spoke to my wife on the phone, she was only interested in Bosco not tanks unfortunately. If I buy another motor cycle or a tank we have to get a 3rd Retriver.
But some great kits and it’s now thinking time.

Great pictures thanks for posting. I love the patina the older models take as they age. Very cool that Armortek keeps an impressive collection on hand - for guests to play with and look over. The Lee is beautiful in its new gleaming armor. Great stuff.
