Hello Kian and thank you for the answers. It is clear to see how and where the steering box is located, and held in place. I expect this is depicted in the motion pack diagrams.
With reference to the differential pinion connection to the prop shaft. I have found parts the CJO440 cup joint, I can see now how the pinion is held to the prop shaft. I was unable to trace the part CJO440 in any of my diagrams.... thanks again Kian, best wishes, Mick

Good morning, calm before the storm weather-wise, here in Mid-Wales...Now, page 8 of the build, I realised that I needed to remove the bearing I had earlier fitted into the Rear Torque Tube using Loctite, as fortune had it the Loctite was not fully set. I think this is the order for installing part of the Rolls Royce drive train.
Page 8. The bearing goes onto the differential pinion first using Loctite, then fit the cup joint CJO440, these parts will then fit into both the Diff casing and down the Rear Torque Tube. The Prop Shaft can then be installed at a later date. This is more of a question rather than a statement.
Note, the grub screw in the Cup Joint CJO440 is too long, so either remove some threads or file the flat on the Pinion.....Mick

Page 8B not in mine either.
Here's an Image of my roller, No.49 after about ten days of evening work in front of the haunted fish tank.
Things to do:
Steering box and worm not fully fitted, waiting for motion pack>
Steering arm not connected to the steering box and front axle not tightened to the springs for the same reason.
Exhaust not tightened either, again waiting for Motion Pack to be fitted.

Hello Pete, that looks great you are making steady progress. Meanwhile, I am waiting for the longer M2s to arrive, to build the rear axle. I use 'Boltbase' on eBay, fast service. I was unsure how to fit the Diff/Pinion and drive shaft. Kian posted the page 8B which explained the sequence. I had unfortunately already Loctited the bearing in the Torque Tube, managed to drift the bearing out. My steering box is built, although I am unsure how to hold the washer and nut, without the steering column, there is probably a shaft/column in the Motion Pack.
I am enjoying the build Rolls Royce, and the little 'glitches', it would be helpful if other Rolls builders posted. Never mind, I am fortunate in being long time retired, so apart from being a full time carer for my wife, the rest of my time belongs to me, yippee....

Found a problem with the turret hatch. Solution on my problem page.
Also a good tip from another guy for putting the spokes in the wheels. I'm waiting to do that later, there may be a few more tips.

Thank you Robert and Pete, I am like my grandson, he's always asking questions....So, a question, I am trying to line up the 2.5 x 16 pins fitted to part EPO203, these pins accept the base and second leaf spring and are uppermost on the two EPO203 parts. I have thoroughly cleaned and de-burred the threads to ensure EPO203 screws fully home however, when EPO203 is flat against EPO201 diff case the pins are not in line, the one pin is almost half a turn out, and the other pin is about a quarter turn out. I can line the pins up by reversing EPO 203, this means both EPO203 left and right are slightly loose ?.....is this permitted ?....answers on a post card, no not really....Mick
PS, Should the pin, (which holds the leaf spring) be in the vertical position, in a couple of photo's the pin looks to be off centre falling to the rear, followimg the natural line of the leaf spring...it may be my tired old eyes though...Mick

I found the same thing with EP0203, so aligned them up by moving them back slightly to a vertical position in relation to the Diff.
So far it has no detrimental effect.

Ok on the differential drive and part EJO203, I was considering some sort of 'shim' to take up the slack however, if you are satisfied with your build, I can go with that. I quite enjoy these little problems...keeps my mind active. On a more practical note, sod this fine weather, I will have to spend time in the garden and a day out....ah well, never mind, best wishes, Mick.

Good morning modellers everywhere , a post, relating to my misfortune (poor modelling) skills while assembling the torque tubes. The front and rear torque tubes are in two halves, joined together by screwing the front tube into the rear tube, dummy rivets are then fitted in the corresponding holes....simple. The front tube has about three or four threads and once the threads are cleaned up....screw the two tubes together....no problem.
However, if you somehow cross-thread this process you (me)... and continue to force the issue...you end up destroying both sets of threads, and I mean completely destroy the aluminium threads. So, have a care...
The problem is recoverable, I have used Araldite to bond the two torque tubes together. Four of the shoulder holes fall in line so these will take full rivets or BA size nuts and bolts. Also with care you can drill through at least four remaining holes and bolt the shoulders together. It is just a point to be aware of, you will need to be really ham-fisted to screw this process up

Morning each, once again, a beautiful sunny day...back to the grind after a short break in Porthmadog. Phil, my Option Packs are due Monday, I will post an overall weight of the Rolls when I have checked.
