Excellent Video,
A real " Dummies guide" to RC Dummies. Very easy to follow, I am sure it will give confidence to future buyers.

Re: Churchill Creations new animatronic kits and Step by Step instructions
Thanks Martin, I've tried to make everything as simple as possible to assemble.
Gone are all the bent bits of wire and squashed tube for arm horns, there's no drilling to do and minimal glueing. I'm really pleased with the result.
I built one the other day, I think start to finish (ready for programming) was less than 40 minutes, most of that was glue drying time.

Re: Churchill Creations new animatronic kits and Step by Step instructions
Hiya, Ive just ordered one of your new 4 function kits and hoping i will still get that free pan and tilt base that you kindly offered as i was struggling to complete my original kit.
I was not sure if the prices are still correct as none of your new components seem to be listed. This forum is the only place ive seen the new stuff.
Anyway, you told Florian that all was good so have placed the order.
Will all the servo's i got for the original kit work on the new kit as well?
Looking forward to getting to grips with the new kits.
Cheers
Tim

Re: Churchill Creations new animatronic kits and Step by Step instructions
Hi Tim,
Sorry this is the first time I've been on the forum this week. Yes no problem, I've got some acrylic on order for the bases so it should be here for the weekend.
Thanks,
Sym.

I've altered the neck parts on the new kits to make fitting of the smaller servo easier. Anyone who has bought one of my new kits and would like a free upgrade please let me know.

Re: Churchill Creations new animatronic kits and Step by Step instructions
As well as the new pan & tilt bases I have also produced a simpler rotating base similar in operation to the old moulded version. This is designed to use a standard servo and has lugs for mounting.
These figures for Patrick also show both of the optional movements on the pointing arm. By running a rod through the upper arm to the smaller lug on the forearm you can imitate a raised forearm movement from the same parts as the standard pointing arm, the holes are already designed into the parts.
Regards,
Sym.

Re: Churchill Creations new animatronic kits and Step by Step instructions
While we're on the subject of the new kits I have had problems with recent batches of the small neck servos I recommend on my builds. It seems that the motor pinion gear is a push fit onto a plain shaft, after a short period the gear spins and the servo doesn't work!
The later D05010MG servos with the white and blue cases so far seem better but are slightly deeper. There is a clearance issue with them but there are a few ways around this. You can either Dremel more clearance from inside the chest, take the back servo case off altogether, or cut the corners off like I did recently (see pic attached).
I will amend the front body file over the coming weeks to allow extra clearance for this servo.
Regards,
Sym.
This is the new updated servo, it has a brass pinion instead of the older plastic one on the all black version...

Re: Churchill Creations new animatronic kits and Step by Step instructions
Hi Kevin Hunter,
Sorry for the delay, I also redesigned the rotate and tilt base last week to make it easier to assemble with an integrated front body moulding. As this was virtually complete when you're parts were printed I decided to swap out the older acrylic base for the better printed items. I've also added the new neck parts to your kit while I was at it.
The holes in the mount are M4 threads so you can bolt the completed figure in position with the supplied fittings.
You should have everything by Tuesday, as always if you need any help with your build just ask.
Thanks,
Sym.

Re: Churchill Creations new animatronic kits and Step by Step instructions
Hi Sym, just to confirm that i got the new kit from you this morning. It certainly looks to be a much better product than the old one i have at home.
There was no Rotate & Tilt base included and i assume that this will follow later.
Cheers
Tim
