Hello Vince,
my tanks have to prove themselves also in difficult grounds. Therefore I like to have feedback about the behaviour of ESC-temperature, motor-temperature, and battery state of charge while running the model to avoid harmful deep discharge. Modern RC equipment offers this feedback to the transmitter by telemetry, including automatical spoken warnings by reaching those limits.
Beyond the enumerated driving and firing functions I use flashing (and sound) of hull- and turret-machineguns, horn, various radio messages, some military songs for the pause in the fighting and animated crew guys. This needs up to 12 - 16 channels.
