Looking great Kevin,
Are you going to add side and turret skirts? Good to see you have the bogey wheel issue resolved. Looking good.

Thanks for your post Bob. I am not going to add shurzen right now as they were not part of the kit and are not included in the manual. The thing is I am an incessant meddler so probably at some stage the side armour will beckon me and I will have to make and fit them. Right now I just want to get her up and running and have a bit of fun. I am sure in the future I will meddle with all sorts of things on it like working lights and flashing machine guns. Watch this space.
Kevin.

Hi all,
My Panzer IV is now built and painted. Just wants the cross and a few other markings and that side is done, for now. I am waiting for electronic magic boxes to bring it to life. When those are in and working I will have the makings of a battle group.
Here are a few pics to show how far it has come from the rusting and neglected thing it was.
All the best
Kevin.

Hi all,
Well, here it is. First time out of the workshop. Photo call to show off. Really happy with it so far. Piccies done and back to the workshop to join the battle group. Nope. It broke. The left side drive gears are jumping across the teeth. Don't really know what to do about it as this set up is all fixed and not adjustable. Oh well here we go ruining the paint job taking bolts out. What did Esther used to say? That's life. Dammit.
All the best
Kevin.

Cannot post any pics as the site tells me all files are too large.

Looks good Kevin, I have had the same problem with photos anything over 2.2mb, if you load them to quickly as in one after the other in quick succession then the system crashes, sounds like the driven gears may be riding, there is a fix but take a look and let us know what you find, regards Phil.

Hi Phil,
Thanks for replying to my post.
I can confirm that you are right the gears are riding up on one another. I took it apart this evening and you can see where it has polished the tips of the gears. There is no real damage though so I can be thankful of that. On inspection the motors flex on the mounts as they are only bolted to the thin floor of the tank. I did wonder as I assembled it if perhaps it was asking a bit too much of the thing. Anyway, all suggestions are welcome.
All the best
Kevin.

The motor needs to be fixed to the hull side with the newer motor mount, the shaft and small gear pass through this mount and the whole assembly is fixed to the hull side plate , Steen had to do this mod recently with his early release Tiger 1 build.
You will need a special template to mark the new fixing holes and a pair of mounts ( you may require newer motor/gearbox units) best ask the management to see what they have in stock that might fit the old girl. Regards Phil.
