Welcome to the forum. There have been several threads on painting but to me there are two things to tackle, first the basic painting, priming, undercoat & top coat then there is the weathering and effects. As suggested in the FAQ's I use basic automotive paints. First you will need an etching pirmer, available from most automotive paint shops as an aerosol to etch to the aluminium and other non ferrous metals, then basic primer followed by top coat which I got mixed as a matt paint from an automotive paint shop. For the primer and top coat I used a compressor and spray gun. I bought the compressor and its tools for about £150 which included adaptors to use the airbrush. For weathering the limit is your abilities but for examples look at Dale Jordon's amazing Tiger in the Tiger 1 section.

Hey Mark and Nick, Welcome to the club.A couple of suggestions for referance material. Tanks in Detail #5 by Terry J. Gander, Tiger and King Tiger Tanks And Their Variants by Walter J. Spielberger or do as I did and just google around, thats how I found most of the referance material for my jadgpanther.

Welcome to the fun. What can I say...I'm jealous of your King Tigers. Looks like a really super kit from Mark and Gill.

Enjoy the builds and please post your progress so lowly ones like me who do not have the King Tiger in our inventory can at least see what it's be like.

I have not done a Zimmerit job on my tank but it has been done succesfully by a number of people. I think that the two preferred materials are milliput or car body filler. I would say that milliput is the easier to use of the two as it gives much more working time. I have also heard of grip fill or No Nails being used. With either material it is a matter of smoothing a thin layer of material over an area then using a specially made comb like tool make the pattern. To ensure good adhesion I would thoroughly scratch up the base material with very course emery cloth.

Hi guys.
I am also new to the proud Armortek Owners.
Been drooling over theese models for a long time thou and have been saving up for the Tiger or the KT. So now when the KT was released i made my purchase before they are sold out .

As im from sweden im thinking of goin for a eastern front type, as there were a scandinavian panzerdivision Wiking. Have had some hard time digging up info on it, colors, zimmerit if used, division number etc.
I know there is some more swedes or anyone else in the forums who have some info about it i would love to recive info.

Im so looking forward to start the build that i cant w8 until the model is shipped. My wife aint that happy thou, but she has been down voted by 3 to one in the family. Damn lucky i have 2 panzer freaks for sons .
