Forgot to upload pic of bottom rim showing it's shape. Flat on top and rounded on bottom and about 5mm thick.

Try http://www.quarryhs.co.uk They have ammo tables which include dimensions for all sorts of ammo. The 88 is well covered in its various forms. The 88 x 822R is the one for the Tiger gun I think.

John - Many thanks for the info on the rim. Is your casing brass, or some kind of steel, as some of the photos I have found of battlefield relics seem to show rust, which wouldn't happen in the same way to a fully brass casing.

Kevin - I had found this site during my searches but although they do give details of the overall lengths and the rim diameter, they don't include other diameters or details on the shoulders or tapers.

It's one of the later steel casings. The early brass casings are hard to get ahold of nowadays.
