NEARLY THERE

Post by Graham Ord »

Latest pictures of pannier, still needs final rubbing down and priming etc.
The locks and catches work (but not with a key the locks are held closed with a very small compression spring). The top holding brackets have enough clearance for the turret lifting hooks.Image Image

Graham I have those photos of the bin now if you still need them, but your drawings are pretty accurate.

Graham,
Awesome job! Really first rate construction! My hat is off to you for undertaking such an immense project! Its going to be an excellent model. I was amazed by your working jack. I'm am also amazed that you do all of your machining on the lathe - which takes some very creative thinking and setting up.

Keep up the great work.

What a model and a real accomplishment to build from scratch. Did you cast the tracks or are these as supplied by Armortek?

TRACKS

Post by Graham Ord »

Hi Allan
They are castings bought from Armortek as I do not have any casting facilities.

Hi All
Just in front of the gun mantlet on top of the barrel holding part on the previous sketch,s on this subject posted by Pierluigi is a rectangular part let in with a thin circular part like a pull ring sticking out, what is it?

Graham, my guess is its a eye bolt to help remove the gun in the field using a crane?

THING IN FRONT OF MANTLET

Post by Graham Ord »

Bob
You may be right but it looks a bit flimsy for that and then why fit it to a rectangular plate let into the surface, surely they would weld a hook there similar to the ones on the turret side?
