Hi Darren,
Not sure what system the Spektrum uses all I know is that it works with Armortek modules.
Also you can get a telemetry system with the Spektrum system as I have one on the Tiger. It gives you the voltage of the batteries, temperature of the amplifier and also displays the strength of the signal being received by the receiver plus it will perform other functions as well.
Dennis.

Darren Sorry to hear you were given the wrong advice by your model shop. Hope you can get your money back or get some other resolution with the shop. You can see from Armorteks comments that your system will not work with the new modules. The reason that the Futaba 7c FASST is not stocked by many shops is that it is not a popular choice for flyers {either helis or planes}. I have found it very easy to use for tanks as have others and would recommend it to a beginner in rc models. Of course it is a matter of personal choice. On a general note I have found that sometimes you do have to be careful when dealing with model shops today,often they have limited knowledge about the products they are selling and you can end up with a totally incorrect product for your application. The Futaba 7c receivers are stocked by many shops and the transmitters do come up on ebay. Quite happy to locate one for you and send it out(be careful of the dreaded customs though}

The Emcotec device shown by William Gardeniers is new to me. Reading the spec it would appear to convert the output signals from the more modern high speed radios (Futaba FHSS) to the older spec, and as such would allow the use of these radios with the Armortek modules. You would need one unit per channel, and we have not tested them.
At this stage I cant find a UK stockist, but Emcotec in Germany will ship worldwide.
Does anyone have any experience of these?
Mark

And at 16 euros each, it would probably be easier to buy a different radio

If the Empotec device just slows the signal down and I am assuming by this,it is
the frame rate.
Then I think the modern radio's with telementry eg the Spectrum DX7S,has a Frame rate
adjustment section where you can change from,11ms to 22ms,the 22ms suits the old
analog servos that don't like the 11ms.
Maybe other modern radios,Futaba,Spectrum or Hitek have the same settable option and
the Armortek moduals would work happily with the 22ms.
I have a Spectrum DX7S,but I don't fancy stripping a Tank down to experiment with it
Cheers

Hi Phil,
I am using 22 ms frame rate on the Spektrum in the Tiger.

Hi Dennis,
I noticed that the Spektrums default to 22ms in the manual.
Also after looking at the emcotec impulse delay,it takes in a maximum speed of 5ms and
converts to 20ms,slowing it down.
Slow is best for Armortek.
Reminds me of that old joke about the young and old bull.
The young bull says, dad, dad, look at all those cows down there, shall we run down the
hill and screw a couple.
The old bull says,no,no,we will walk down and screw the lot
cheers

Can any one explain what an ms is and why 22 is better than 11 or 5 in reference to tgransmitters? I have tried Googling the term and nowt sensible comes out as what this unit is. I am in need of more information so as be able understand better the implications. Another area is why 6 or 7 channels is fine but 8, 9 or 10 is bad, and is there any way of geeing up a 10 channel receiver so that it might work?
A perfect pair of questions for a Saturday evening to keep an insomniac entertained fruitfully for most of the night
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve
The "ms" is short for milli seconds so 5ms is faster than 22ms and some equipment
prefers or works better with the slower speed.
Other items like the fast digital servo can make use of the faster signal.
