Hi Roger.

John is correct if you look back through my King Tiger builds on this forum its covered there. As you say a simple 3mm roll pin is all I use and snip the end off and power file.
Just belt and braces really.

Best to get it done before you get further. pin both ends. Most of the builds on here do it.. As Paul says, belt and braces.

King Tiger Update
Ordered 3mm X 20mm roll pin's on ebay to drill and pin the suspension arm's from the good advise from John and Paul (Thankyou)so this will be my next job in between doing the road wheels.
Seal's and bearing's fitted to final drive housing and idler bushes fitted.

Suspension arm's all drilled and roll pin's pressed in all ready for another coat of paint.

Suspension arm re coat and assembling of 1st stage on the Road wheel's after trimming all the bolt's down, for a more detailed look.
Half way through on this stage next stage fit bearing's into hubs (with loctite) and bolt two wheel's together.

Very neat work. Great progress. Tracks will be on in no time. Then it gets heavy.

Hull Preparation,
Filling is OK,But struggling on the fake weld's, being a welder i thought it would be a breeze, i'm trying to do what Dale Jordan has done on his King Tiger but i am finding that i am not very good at it' i will keep practicing.

I use green tube grip fill for my welds just inject a small bead along the joint and
tool the beed slightly to get the ridges in the surfce.
Leave to dry and jobs a good un.

The grean one sticks to the metal and is high in solvent when dry and the solvent has
evaperated it takes the primer well.

I was a welder aswell so I enjoy doing that bit on the Tanks.
If you cant get on with the quick drying filler or slow it down with less hardner,try
other methods like Derek said until you find the one you are comfortable with.
I use Milliput which takes a lot longer to dry but you can make another coffee while
you pause
People use different tools aswell,I use a selection of different size paper clips
opened out,you have a different size each end.
For multiple welds,the time spent cleaning the previouse pass in welding is spent waiting
for it to dry,then you can build the look up.
There is an excellent article that you can Google and print off like I did.
