Thanks Nick and Steve. It's a nice model to work with. The kit parts go together well. Lots of parts to make. Nick, I believe your deck is permanently welded. How do you find access and battery removal. I might cut the deck and have a permanent front deck and removeable rear section. I will have a look at the real Panzer IV deck and see if this is OK. I want to add a wall between the engine bay and fighting compartment.

Hi John
I welded the complete top section in to one peice it can be removed bye just lifting it up , it is held in position bye the brackets I made for the rearand front mudguard suport bracketsthese stop it from sliding around and keep it in position I did it this way because I was always going to try and do the extra armour on the sides this way it was easier for me when making the brackets it being in one complete piece. All the best,,,,,,,, nick

I have made a more derailed late Panzer IV. bump stop. White metal casting with somw brass fittings. The mould however failed before I could get all my castings. If I was to make anothe mould I would brake down the part into smaller components. I am happy with them for now. The rubber inserts are leftover from the Tiger 1 kit bumpstops.

I have started to apply zimmerit. Milliput.
Did some reshaping of the air intakes. Drivers visor, viewport, Relocating some parts to more correct positions.

another JF high quality job i see. I fancied a Pz 4 but there are not so many about. Interesting to see that you made foundry marks and then zimm'd over them. I need to learn these marks for my Tiger 1 which im about to pick up again

cheers

Thanks guys,
Bob, I lik to add the texture to the platiš as it means that any plačeš with damaged zimmerit will show through, also its a better key to which the miliput can adhere. There is not a lot of miliput on the panzer iV asit was covered with shurzen. Happy to find a second application for the TIger 1 view port glass blocks.

Panzer IV was produced only in small numbers by Armotrek so might be a bit hardver to get. I would have loved a Kink TIger bu funds being diverted at present due to new recruits to family pending. Twins. :D

John,
Great work on the zimm so far - looks great! I will use Miliput as well on mine. The details are really adding up to a first class looking model. I've got a lot of catching up to do.

Congratulations on the twins! You may want to finish the P4 before they arrive, you will be busy with other things soon enough!
Best regards,
Bob

Yeah, you don't see too many Panzer-4's floating around. Nice detailing job. Nice change of pace.
