Looking good. Gerald Wingrove, who made fantastic car models for Beaulieu, has a section on making louvres in both his books ("The Complete Car Modeller"). Of the two volumes, the second has the most detail. It may not be the right solution for you as he made a press to speed up the process but the principles might help. They still seem to be available:

He's also got a website which you can Google.

All the best and maybe see you at Tiger Day?

Stephen

Hi Stephen,
Yes thanks for that info. Won't be at Bovvy for Tiger Day as we are at Shepton Mallett for Model Eng Show, might get some ideas for the louvres there. I hope the Tiger is ready as when we were down there a few weeks ago they still had a lot of work to do. Barry is taking his Tiger down there on the Sat and then coming up to Shepton on the Sun. Hoping to have something on the Diamond T front to take to Tankfest in June. Looking forward to the arrival of my Tiger soon.
Dennis.

Hi Dennis
There is a nice photo of a Diamond T, carrying a Sherman, in the new Hayes manual about the Sherman tank.

Just a few more photos of the trailer. The ramps are not truly to scale but will look better when the sides are cladded. The plan is to put a rubber surface on the ramp but as you can see the Panzer climbed the ramps without any problem. The ramps will be raised and lowered by cables under radio control. Had to reduce photo size to 680 x 460 to fit on site.

Dennis,
Great work, its looking like a truck now. I located some similar tyres for the tractor. Can you give some details on the trailer wheels? Are they pneumatic, semi-pneumatic? What is approx dia of trailer tires?

Are you going to make the tractor rideable? It would be cool to add a seat that fits into the ballast box so you can "drive" it. Just a thought.

Great project,
Best regards
Bob

Hi Robert,
The trailer wheels are 5 inches in diam and the truck wheels are 8 inches in diam. Both are fully pneumatic. We won't be riding on it although we have had 2 of us on it just to test the pulling power. All will be under radio control.

Hi Nick,
Yes is going to pretty big about 9ft 6" long all told. The wheels came fron ebay somewhere I didn't source them, Alan Webster is the man to get in touch with he sourced them on behalf of Barry and myself.

It depends on the size that you want. Here are some 8" diameter ones:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360348343283? ... 1423.l2648

I know that 5" and 10" diameter ones can be fouhd too. Just type 10" pneumatic wheels into your ebay search.

I hope that this helps

Hi All,

Sorry about lack of posts but I have been on holiday in South of France for 5 weeks so we will now crack on with build to get something up and running for Tankfest at the end of June. My Tiger has arrived but I think it will have to remain in the boxes for a while.
