Hi Steve,
I was going to have a crack at the shurzen myself. Pencil and paper plans. Any help with plans would be great and appreciated. Sorry for hijacking your build pots Nick. Photos were great. Keep a bit back so that I can get a surprise when I open the boxes.

Hi Nic and John
The plans are looking good and hope to be done within the next week or so.
Please PM me your addresses.
As soon as I can get them printed I shall get a copy in the post to you both.
The shurzen and the mounting bars have come out better than even I thought they would have.
Regards Steve

Steve,
I'd like a set of plans as well for the Shurtzen. How much are you asking? Would it be something you could PDF and post online?
Thanks for the effort to put this together.
Bob

Hi to all
started to put the hull together ,fitting the bogies to the hull sides, only with four bolts each, then fitted the bogie guards to the bottom .Next was to be the rear plate but here i want to make some changes to the exaust,s, i dont want to use the muffler thats in the kit so i need to find a way to alter the brackets to suit the ausf j model ,with the exaust stacks instead soi need to have a think on that and i have not decided to use four return rollers or three.
the build is going to slow down a bit untill i decide on what to do and how.I have been spraying the parts as im going along ,even with the final coat ,this way i know i want get the spray shadows you get when you carnt get to the back of some things when they are built up
Next is the rear idler sub assembly ,i can get on with this while i think about what to do .Thats all for now
Best wishes to all NICK

Hi Nick,
Looking superb! I love the weld job on the bogey supports - very professional, it looks to be a rather small part too? thanks for sharing these build photos for those who of us who will hopefully be joining you soon in the build.
Steve L,
You can google "cute PDF writer". It is free software and works great to convert drawings to PDF. You use it like printing a document, except it prints it to PDF format instead of paper.
Keep up the great work guys,
Kind regards,
Bob

Hi all
Thanks fellas been doing a bit more today decided to finish the front plate and do the bolt down hatch and the hinged hatches the hinges played me up a bit ,had to enlarge the holes to get the hinges to be closer together had a problem with them not closing ,all sorted now ,that done i moved on to the front tow brackets fitted perfect.I then moved on to the idler channel, the idler channel has a slot in it for the rear tow bracket and the tow bracket has to fillets to add to the sides of it,i needed to file about 1.5mm of the notch so the tow bracket fitted flush with the bottom of the idler channel so the fillets could be fitted corectly not a problemjust glad i checked it first before i started bolting bits down.
I couldnt bolt all this to the hull because i havent sorted the twin exhausts out yet,so i made a start on them and this how far i have got with them i need to weld the hole up in the rear hull plate that would have been used for the smoke pipe going to the large silecer box in the kit .I have drilled the lower hole out in the exhaust mounts too ten mm that still leaves the top ones for fixing fixing .The ten mm holes in both the brackets will carry the smoke up the pipes ,they just need a bit more work still to do
thats it for today best wishes to all
nick

Hi to all
I have nearly finished the exhaust tubes or stacks just need to do the inserts but happy so far with the outcome.
I was just going to put a cover plate over the hole for the original smoke hole but decided to weld it up instead i was worried about distortion but it was all ok .
Next is to spray and bolt it all to the hull.
regards to all nick

Hi Guys
Good news I have just about finished with the plans.
There may be a bit of a delay in getting them printed as I am hoping to have them printed on transparent paper so they can be used as an overlay also it is a much stronger paper.
The delay is I am hoping to get them printed FOC via the old boy network so I am going to have to wait out for the moment.
Robert and Ray please PM me your e-mail address if I have done this correct the plans were made in 1/35 scaled up to 1/1 and then down to 1/6 I also imported a lot of panzer iv free wear from the net to save time and have the plans complete as possible so they can be used as reference for mounting the shurzen.
I then saved as 1/6 scale PDF and zipped.
Apart from all that Nick the build is coming on very nicely I now find myself looking forward to your posts to see what’s next well done mate keep up the great work.
Regards to all
Steve
