i now have the hull together, steves rear bins and the support brackets fitted, i did read that these brackets changed from early to late model, and some not fitted at all. the inspection access covers on the floor are more or less finished, i will apply some paint before i turn the hull over, a picture as asked for by a forum member of my tank storage, cheap to build and keeps them in good condition, hope it gives some interest, regards simon manning.

Hi Simon,
Same as Robert and David, I like your display cabniet---and tanks in there of course.
It must be built strong, to support 4 heavy metals there. Also I wonder how easy to move them in to/out from there?
Cheers,
Lerh Chang

Early stages yet, and jumping ahead of myself. if you mottle the primer to achieve a patchy effect and apply a thin seethrough topcoat it picks up all the detail in the welds and the surface texture. i am trying for a washed out look, thin and watery. i found using a dark thin primer on the welds and then a thin colour coat the detail shows up superb. the camo pattern will be thin and watery aswell as if applied in a hurry in the field. thanks for all looking and taking an interest. regards Simon Manning

i like the look of this thin paint, it gives a used uneven pattern and displays the texture and detail better than just loading on total coverage of colour, i think its more apt for late war german tanks where anything goes, and colours on top of colours, i have made a start on the torsion bars, not my most favorit part, regards simon manning.

thanks paul and tim, the tank looks like my panther at this stage with the odd coloured wheels but thats only on the inner set, the outside sets will be camo as with the rest of the tank, the finished model should look o.k.once the weathering has been applied and toned down, loads to do yet, regards simon.

Hello Simon,

Nice job so far on the jagdpanther,
your paint work is like always very beautiful.
I have a question about how to tone down the collors.
Can you explain how do you do that Simon?

best regards Yves

i thought i would carry on with some paintwork for the moment, i gave the wheels the kent mod on the lathe, once all the wheels are on, back to the metal work, regards simon.

starting out on the color scheme is always difficult, i've tried for something late and well used, a mix, a worn look, i will see how it goes, regards simon.
